As an MZ supporter, I don't know if we would have won more than 4 games with him at QB. Maybe...but it's hard to see in hindsight. So much of his game is centered around the running game, and to be frank our running game has been up and down this year. We had 200 yards rushing today, which would normally be great, but if you take away Adams big run we weren't anywhere near consistent running the ball. I think we probably win the NC State game with MZ playing the whole game since throwing the ball gave us nothing...but outside of that I'm just not sure how the other games would have gone given the fact our OL hasn't always been getting a good push.
Part of me hopes that Kizer does go pro. I think he's a decent QB, but he's struggled at times this year without a speedy Fuller to take the top off the defense. I'd like to see Wimbush get his shot next year, or even a commitment to the run game with Zaire at QB if he sticks around...but I doubt that happens. I just think this offense needs a reset button. We need a strong, dominant running game to be successful when bad weather hits. We are successful at times, then we completely get beat and stuffed for a quarter.
