This may sound dumb but if ND wins the toss, they have to DEFER. In a possession game like this, the last thing they can afford is to give up a late 1st half TD to Navy and to allow them to have the ball first in the 2nd half.

Exactly what I was worried about. At least they got it tied up but now they need at least one stop and have to score on every possession.
