Yeah I don't see how their front line is gonna be able to hold up against our DE especially the way we have been playing lately. Cuse had 13 TFL. Their OL was much better against NC State and Stanford so we will c.

I've been to a lot of ND/Pitt games over the years, 2012 was almost a dagger in the heart. I'm excited for this one, but I also think it's gonna be 40 something to 20 something.

Shared this little story last night.

I was at the '76 game. Pitt won the NC that year and had Heisman winner Tony Dorsett at RB. As soon as I saw the field, I noticed how long the grass was. Obviously an attempt to slow down Dorsett. I'm excited thinking we're going to pull the upset. Second play Dorsett goes off tackle for a 61 yards. 4:45 mark. Final 34-20 Pitt.

I know it's not happening, but it would be great if ND fans packed that place at the bare minimum 50/50. Watched the Steelers and Chargers a few nights ago for a bit and Chargers had to literally use a silent snap count in their home stadium.

It will definitely happen, every time I've gone to a ND game in Pittsburgh it's always 50/50. The Panthers aren't the Steelers, and ND fans will take over the stadium. I remember going to the 2005 game (Charlie and Wannstedt first game) and there was a rib festival going on the same night. In short, that was the best pregame and postgame party full of ND fans I was ever at....and it happened to be at an away stadium.

Do think it would be nice to get Hinish back. Not just the Pittsburgh native angle. Pitt passes a ton and he’s still our best interior pass rusher. Concussion protocol for a week+ isn’t great

I completely forgot that my first ever ND game was in 96 against Pitt. 60-6. I was a sophomore at NC State and we drove up for a three day weekend. Seems like this was right when rumors started that Lou would be stepping down and I was devastated. A lot of memories that season. I remember against Vanderbilt a hurricane was hitting NC during the game and we lost power so my dad and I had to get play by play from my future wife on the phone🤣. They just scored! Who? The team with the gold helmets! Shit, they both have gold helmets!

I saw Pitt play ND in South Bend in 2002. That was Ty’s first year & the carriage had yet to turn into a pumpkin. The bookstore couldn’t keep “The Shirt” in stock…may have been one of their all time best sellers. Pretty uneventful win for ND but do remember Pitt’s QB Rod Rutherford hitting Larry Fitzgerald for a TD

I assume this is going to be another game where the defense loads the box and hope's CJ is off. Their run defense is definitely good, but FSU and NC State had big games and we should break one or two.

2004 and 2008.

As a Bears fan, watching Wannstedt beat ND in South Bend is one of my all time low points as a sports fan. That dude is an absolute bum.

Weis absolutely throttling him in 2005 on his debut was a thing of beauty.

They are 100% doing that because they don’t have a choice. If Carr is on the money there are going to be a handful of 70 yarders.

I agree. I think we win by 17 and are largely in control the whole game, but we don't really truly "steamroll" or snooze. It's a scrap but we'll make their talented freshman QB turn the ball over a bunch.
I think Gameday and the attention it has gotten only helps ND and gathers their attention. Pitt would have been better suited if this game was under the radar.

I think we win by 10 to 14 but I think there is a better chance this turns into a total ass kicking on our end than it is that Pitt wins. Pitt's real success is their run defense (which against Love and Price could not be good enough to do anything) and their freshman QB (who has struggled with turnover worthy throws while under pressure). Basically if their vaunted run defense is more of a product of their schedule rather than talent and their line continues to suck, this could get out of hand for them.

I was at the 2008 and 2012 games. Two overtimes with two different feelings after. I remember the sprinklers going off in between the 3rd and 4th OT. That and LeSean McCoy gashing us.
