I wouldn't call it choking, BC is way better than ND. They already lost to them twice this year and the last one was by 5 goals on a neutral site.

yeah choking might've been the wrong word to use but i just expected more out of this team this afternoon after they almost beat the eagles at home late in the season and then went on to beat defending champs UNC a week or two later.

Btw I'll be at the quarterfinals in Annapolis on Sunday... not sure if anyone else is making the trip. I hypothetically have the Virginia state championship for HS on Saturday if we win our quarterfinal/semifinal games so this is going to be either a really happy or really soul crushing weekend.

You could be on an emotional roller coaster this weekend.

yeah it wasn't the best game they've played this season but give Hopkins credit for playing great defense and taking away Pat. us and PSU have to play way better next weekend if they both want to advance to the title game but right now i'm just happy to see us going back to championship weekend.

Win and move on.. Hopkins played a pretty tough D, and for the most part, the refs let them play. Gotta make the faceoffs more of a scrum...8/24 against Virginia's offense probably isn't going to get it done. Definitely going to be a bumpy road, but one that the Irish are ready to take on! Hopefully everyone heals up, and they take care of business.
Also Duke is the one seed, so it is what it is, but what a joke of a path....They basically need to play one complete game to win the championship. I know PSU has some playmakers, and overall are a solid team, but they looked incredibly slow, and sloppy.

I thought they took what was given and created some key turnovers. I also thought they made some uncharacteristic errors themselves and forced some unnecessary looks. Can’t be disappointed with a win, Hop was a tough out. I’m curious to see what the plan is against Schellenberger. Kid is an absolute stud. Face offs are going to be tough against Petey as well. Hopefully we make some adjustments and create some good matchups. Definitely going to have to get UVA moving.

Let's hope we are very slow to slide off of Dixon and Cormier and do a great job on Schellenberger one v one. I would face guard the two former players and keep a stick in their upper elbow at all times and play a four man rotation. Let the other players beat us if they can.

Our opponent had a UVA commit at attack and their goalie is headed to Duke but we controlled the game with faceoffs and our ride. We also have 3 D1 poles (and our 4th pole is playing D1 football) so we were able to neutralize what they were trying to do in settled offense.

With ND I'm used to always finishing #2 not #1 so it was definitely a different feeling....

anyone know what kind of a recruiting class we have coming to campus this fall. i read an article recently about a kid we have a verbal from already who is supposed to be the nation's top ranked player for the 25 class.

Tiffany is a tremendous tournament coach. It's a shame, I seriously wonder if ND will ever win a title in lacrosse.

UVA got a ton of lucky bounces and ND had no Plan B when Kavanagh got hurt. I think it was a major mistake not to put Westlin or Bayman in to get more movement. Is what it is.

They got lucky bounces, but luck is the residue of design. They beat us easily twice this year.
