OK, so GoIrish and I have this little tradition the night before the first game of the year...cold drink in hand, chatting it up about Irish football and whatever else. It's kinda how we got to know each other a couple of years ago. I know it's early out here on the west coast, but if some of you east coasters are up, join in on a chat on this thread.

In other words...what's up everybody??? How psyched are you for tomorrow? GoIrish...you out there?

I'm beyond pumped. Brian Kelly is beyond a shadow of any doubt for me the best possible hire, and I've said that since we started courting him. The BK era starts off tomorrow with an Irish win!

i think my girls main goal is to make me sad before the game, she is forcing me to watch the movie "My Sisters Keeper", not really the most upbeat movie....while she is crying, my insides are going crazy with excitement.

Dude, as Aaron Lynch said..."We gonna be beast!" I really believe that tomorrow. The defense still scares me, especially b/c our secondary has been lit up like a Christmas tree so much lately (and watching that SC game last night gave me the shakes b/c it reminded me of last year, but I think we're gonna represent tomorrow.

And that doesn't mean I'm sleeping on Purdue...they beat OSU last year in a huge upset, so they have talent. And their QB can make plays with his legs which always scares me. But I just think that the Irish are on the way back and there is no way we lose. Might be closer than we want, but we're coming out with a victory!!!

Wow, I just completed my work week of teaching middle-schoolers, and it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I can barely keep my eyes open all of a sudden. Enjoy your night fellas. I get fired up for every ND game, but this one has so much intrigue. It is the start of a new era.

Last time I was so fired up about a game (Hawaii bowl) like this I got home from work and plopped me down in front of the tv with a big bag of Cracker Jacks (prize inside) and a 24 oz. can of Steel Reserve.

Seconds before kickoff, ...blip... I was out, and didn't wake up until the announcers said something like "I hope you enjoyed our presentation..."

Well, I ain't working tonight, and earlier, because of that damn beer thread, I went out and bought me a bottle of Newcastle, then followed up with some cheap Miller High Life (that one is for NDinLA). No Cracker Jacks (prize inside). Just mixed nuts. I'll be staying home. Too many cops, sheriffs, and CHPs out all weekend until Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. (Make sure you all have a driver, or just spend the night wherever you are if you get a bit toasted.)

2217 in Alaska. I'll be heading to bed soon and getting up at 0600 for College Gameday. My Jersey is laid out, as is my daughter's ND cheerleader uni her great grandpa got her. I'm ready, I'm nervous, and I'm PUMPED all at the same time. I'll be taking 3 Tylenol PM because Christmas doesn't have the same feeling anymore, it has shifted to the day before ND's first game. GO IRISH!

Just had a warm bran muffin and a cup of coffee. Read the news paper and took my arthritis meds. Going to put on my cardigan and hit the road to South Bend in the next hour.

Gonna punish those sidewalks on campus with my motorized scooter. I'm a little rascal in my little rascal. None of you there beer-drinking whipperesnappers have anything on me...
