I couldn't get the Rollins letter to download...I'll try later. But come on Hank, you were the lead singer of Black Flag! Stick to what you do best or as Laura Ingraham so aptly put it in her best seller, "Shut Up & Sing".

Seriously, Rollins is intelligent & articulate w/ the gift of word but I chuckle when entertainers preach to us. Granted, it's their right, but I can still chuckle at their audacity. "Liar" was a cool video, though!

Newt is a great historian and professor, and would really emphasize education reform and improvements. Wouldn't you think the teachers union would support him????????????

I would like to know why $55Million of it was allocated BY CHUCK GRASSLEY (R-IA) for an AMAZON RAIN FOREST BIO-DOME in Iowa.

That is only ONE of the many DOZENS of allocations that REPUBLICANS made using that bill. All were for use in the US for NON-military purposes. $10 Million for a fish hatchery in Tennessee. No problem...done.

All of this came from the SUPPLEMENTAL WAR BILL.

These were not Democrats messing with money allocated for the military...

There are PLENTY of conservative Universities in the world filled with plenty of conservatives.

The guy sure seems to have come full circle. Ever since I have heard him speak in the last seveal years, I have agreed with all he has said. He seems to have America's interest at heart. While you expect some liberal dudes at colleges, especially at some more than others, does it have to be so institutionalized to where it is the norm? I checked out the quotes taken from the book & from Caroline Higgins' response. Sounds like he had a good idea that went south when he tried to fill the list of 101 w/ professors who shouldn't have been incl. Ward Churchill, Angela Davis, Berube, Chomsky are no-brainers, but Higgins shouldn't have been incl. by my brief review.

The quotes from racerrelations.com & InsideHigherEd.com, said that "she made the list for teaching classes on peace & social justice @ Earlham College, a Quaker college. Quakers are, by theology, pacifists & teaching a class on peace at such a school is the equivalent of teaching about Jesus @ Baylor."

I, in no way, read the book. But the quotes I read from the education sites discussing Higgins inclusion didn't malign the Quaker religion as much as it was just incorrect to include her as a "commie" poisoning young people's minds in college. She seemed pretty classy about it in her comments. Based on what I found, I wouldn't call it a crime worthy of burning in hell, but I don't have your perspective. You sounded pretty sensitive to his remarks so I'll assume he said something more inflammatory about your religion...like I said I haven't read the book.
