Just do the opposite of what Booker says.

Yeah, the only thing he should be analyzing is his own failures.

"Before I do something, I ask myself, 'would an idiot do this?'

And if the answer is 'Yes,' I do not do that thing."

I cannot say for sure but it is not hard for me to see a scenario where you have a young coach, a head coach not real keen on prioritizing special teams, and typical late breaking tweeks that rob practice time from somewhere...all of that stuff, I can see maybe coming together to kill Booker.

As for tight ends...yea, not so good there. In all fairness the talent fell off, and injuries/suspensions didn't help either.

I like the guy from what I saw of him...I think the analyst gig is going to do a lot for guys like Scott.

Yes. Keeps him in a big-time program where he can keep learning the craft of coaching. Maybe in a couple of years he's back on staff. Probably better career move than becoming an assistant at a random MAC school or whatever fate befalls a fired young assistant.
One downside though: Booker was well-regarded as a recruiter, something he can't really do as an analyst.

So is he just an analyst or is he an "analyst" aka 10th staff member in waiting?

I'm glad he landed on his feet.

Good point...hadn't thought about the recruiting part. Hopefully he gets to interact with the current players...maybe he can show that skill by keeping a couple guys on for 5th year or something.

I had to point out to people on /r/cfb that he was not our "best recruiter". Scott Booker is a great guy and a good coach. He's also not a bad recruiter by any means. But Nebraska fans also tried to play it off like it was some sort of coupe and that's just plain wrong. I had to explain that he was let go for a reason(s).
