I am watching John Freeman's channel Always Irish. There is no questioning his lifelong love for all things ND.

Edit: Goolsby is now on (I think drunk) swearing like a trooper hahaha.

Edit: Wait the fella's name is John Kennedy not John Freeman hahaha. Thanks pumpdog
Who’s the drunk one here? No judgments.

Cam Newton tripling down on Notre dame ha ha

Basically, Cam said, around the 7:00 mark that even if ND wins the NC, it is not an earned win simply due to the fact that the process of getting their, aka the regular season, was an easy path for them.

That logic is (predictably) flawed. If ND is the only “fraud” in the playoffs because they don’t play in a conference and have an easy schedule, then that would mean they aren’t as good as all the other playoff teams who are in conferences and have performed to a similar record against a tougher schedule in the regular season. Yet, for some strange reason, ND keeps beating all these playoff teams from conferences…

There is no logic, and you can tell Cam doesn't even have his heart in it.

It's all for show. Wouldn't be shocked if Cam is telling Clark how happy he is for him and his son once the camera is off lol

Colin Cowherd has become a ND ally, which is strange for a USC guy.

However, he keeps doing this weird comparison of Riley Leonard to Josh Allen. Love Riley, but.... no. :ROFLMAO:

College Riley to College Allen is actually a pretty good comp imo.

I thought Allen was going to be a pro bust based on all the pre-draft love he got because of his bad accuracy... but sometimes, if you put a big, physical freak in a good situation and let him continue to develop, it works out.

Leonard is a big, physical freak with accuracy issues, just like Allen. He's gonna need to have quite the combine/pro day performance to generate the same pre-draft love that Allen got, though, and he's gonna have to find something to fall back on that Allen didn't have, since he doesn't have the cannon Allen does.

That's fair.

It's my sincere hope that Josh Pate is in shambles today.
Disbelief mostly, and he says "I guess I have to keep picking against them" essentially. He talks about how they run the models, and this and that, but he also goes against their own models at times so...yeah, he's a doofus.

If Cam Newton had even an ounce of IQ, he would do some research to understand that there is some history behind why Notre Dame is not in a conference. While it was the Big Ten that blocked ND, it had to be off putting generally. There was once a lot of hatred towards Catholics. Never join.

Ari Wasserman on Sampson’s podcast is an absolute jackass. I’d never heard him before, but obnoxious and cringey as F. Low rent dude— I hope that’s the last time he is on their show.

What do you dislike about him so much?
I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I don't hate him in a dumbass ESPN Cam Newton type of way.
He is a pretty good analyst too and had us predicted for the natty appearance before IU.

Agreed. He’s a younger more exuberant journalist so he has to grow on you. He was on the OSU beat for long time so he‘s got some deep insights into their program so I take some of what he says w/ a grain of salt but he’s also hated by OSU fans b/c he dares to criticize them. If you can keep him on topic, he brings some good insights. He’s not an ND hater, he’s just being honest. Think about it…it you’re not an ND fan & look at the matchup rationally it’s not unreasonable to think OSU wins comfortable. Most media members w/ no skin in the game are picking OSU to cover. As long as you include the caveat that “anything can happen in the NC game” (which he did), then what else do you want from him? He wants a competitive game but is predicting a comfortable win by OSU. He just posted a glowing article on ND and the season they had. I get that we have negative fans here who expect the worst but there’s way more Pollyannish fans who think ND “wins over all” regardless of injury, talent, etc.

Ari had a good point about this years OSU's team being the last truly elite roster, a holdover from the pre-NIL era ala Clemson, Bama of the past few seasons. NIL has evened the playing field where talent is distributed now across a greater number of teams and not stockpiled onto 2 or 3 teams like before
