For all his so-called knowledge, Driskell screws himself up by being too much of an ND Homer. He honestly thought last season Freeman would ND as a Title contender w only a possible lose at The Shoe. He never took into account Freeman’s lack of experience. He so hated BK and gave Freeman unearned credit too much. I suppose last season was a day dream burst for Driskell.

He also consistently overstate the upside of the lesser ND recruits.

In short he has a hard time being objective.

ND has not closed the Gap in recruiting - that is a false narrative.
Wait, you think nd has closed the gap in recruiting? Landing Hartman closed the gap for one season imo.

You obviously haven’t read many of my posts.
People on here actually call me Driskell because I defend IB so much.
I can separate the football stuff from the other stuff.
I think Ryan Roberts is awesome & Dridkell analyzes & breaks down football & recruits better than most. But there are also other things he does that are annoying.
Both can be true.
I, for one, am still not convinced you aren’t Driskell.

Sure in one position but so many positions are not top caliber. What was the #1 class in mid October became #12 by losing almost all the 5 stars.

Weird how there is very little coverage of Irish invasion this year and doesn’t seem like any big names

Such camps have dropped in status/popularity in recent years it’s not just a ND thing

Wait - Singer actually travelled?

In typical Singer fashion, he mad a big deal about it.
Whenever that dude does anything, he makes sure to let everyone know about it.
He created an entire thread to tell people how busy he was & how it’s the busiest time of year & he was traveling and covering things (so his actual job).
Nevermind what he did this weekend is what every other analyst/site does every weekend.

Anybody see Prister's article here? He interviewed Polian about ND's facilities (or lack thereof).
Oh yeah. and you can see me and him going back in forth in comment section.

He outright says he's fine with the way ND is doing things as long as they "keep winning a lot of games". He has zero interest in setting the bar higher for national championship by adjusting and leading the way against the competition like ND used to always do for decades and decades.

IB just went in on Andrew Ivins again.
Said he is the most petty person they know in the business & will continue to drop ND recruits because of his hatred of ND.

USC, Stanford, Navy, and the ACC in general being down for several years created such fool's gold for the program.

It was so distasteful that he did the Sevillano commitment breakdown following his live announcement. Surprised it wasn’t Loy.

They don't need to do everything top programs do, but good as the entire ND sports program is they should have their own dining.

Staffs are increasing big time in football so you need to accommodate. That's simple fix.

The changes needed are difficult, no clue why they aren't being done. Hopefully they are in the works and we just don't know it. With that said, these types of fixes should take a year to complete.

Rolfs athletic hall should be taken down and a new facility stood up for the needs mentioned. Perfect location for football and all athletics.

I missed that, what did you do?

It's merely the fact that they had him, Ivins, a rather notorious anti-ND guy, breakdown a commitment when it's usually always Loy.

He didn't say anything bad about Sevillano, but some of his analysis and future projections could have been better. He has no inside knowledge of the program, or roster outlook. Again, I'm just surprised it wasn't Loy, or at least Wiltfong.

Got it. I can't say I really pay much attention to him. Or ever really noticed his anti-ND bias.

This is inside baseball crap. Who gives a fuck. The bigger issue is whether we are keeping up with Top 10 programs on the Line commitments. Thusfar 2024 is not great but hopefully better commits will be had.

I think ND is doing fine and will end up fine.

"We should be better than fine."

I'm obviously speaking modestly. Finishing strong is a must, but if you really do a deep dive into the current commits and understand how they will project into ND's defense, you should walk away with some sort of level of satisfaction. Offensively, there class is pretty much filled up. Landing Lambert is a must, however.

Mullins, Bryce Young & Leonard Moore will all finish ranked much higher than where they currently are. Mullins, especially.

Driskell just told a really cool Delan M. story.

He said that when Delan was recruiting Love last year the Love family values honesty & knew coaches were lying to them & just telling them what they thought they wanted to hear. They knew it because another kid the Love family knew was getting told different stories by the other teams’ coaches than what they were telling them.

When they set it up so that kid’s family & the Love’s asked the same question to Delan about them separately, Delan gave both families the exact same answer, even though it might not be what one wanted to hear. So the Love’s knew Delan was being honest with them & that sold them.

This is a very good story and highlights what one of the other sites had said recently that they really do believe that ND coaches are fairly straightforward and honest with recruits, both good and bad, when they're going through the process.

That's the way it should be. That's what I'd want for my son - nothing less.

Of course I post a good Driskell story, now the flip side.

I just finally had to turn the show off because Driskell went on another BK rant and actually said, “BK is a freaking idiot” about running backs. Of course Vince just shook his head in agreement as always while jerking him under the table.

BK has his faults, but a failed D3 position coach & a failed HS freshman football coach questioning a very successful, major P5 football coach, & saying “what they would do & BK should have done” is just idiocy.

It seems the show can work off this premise at times.

"BK is a freaking idiot." That's rich. Look, I don't know BK from Adam, but sure, he comes off as stand offish and aloof. That said, I don't care. Let's also not act like Saban is some super warm and fuzzy coach. Ryan Day? He strikes me as a creep. Harbaugh? Odd. Dabo? He looks like he attends a mega-church. Kiffin? He'd make moves on your wife and daughter. Kirby? He's got a shadiness factor to him. James Franklin? See Kirby Smart. Point is, who cares? You aren't hanging out with them nor are they acquaintances. As long as they don't break the law or are creepy, sleazebags, I just want to win.

ETA: How is Driskell "in the know" anyway? Anyone know how get got his insider connections, if any, and who they are? Sometimes, I really want to sign up for IB. Overall, they have good content, but man, Driskell has this smug, superiority football complex that will even rear its ugly head in conversation with his co-hosts. I just can't give guy's like that money / business.
