I think we win this game. I think we come out hungry and f them up...at least I hope so.

Here is my alternate pick:

We take a 17-14 lead into halftime.

Find ourselves down 28-14 after the third quarter.

After falling behind 35-14 we get two quick scores to make it a ballgame late: 35-28

The defense keeps them out of the endzone but they tack on a short field goal with just over a minute remaining. 38-28

Riddick takes the ensuing squib kick to the heezy. Extra point is missed. 38-34

Tate recovers the onside kick. Jimmy is sacked and coughs up the ball, recovered by Pitt.

After a lengthy review it is determined that Jimmy's knee was down before he lost possession. The next play is a hook and ladder with Floyd pitching it to Tate, who has plenty of space to run.

He dives for the pylon, losing the ball. Its recovered by Pitt for a touchback. Or was it? A 40 minute long review reveals that he actually stepped out at the seven yard line before diving.

Irish get yet another chance. After three consecutive incomplete fades to Paris, Toma, and some random walk-on guy, Charlie decides to throw another fade. This one is lobbed a good 10 yards out of bounds and over Floyd's head. Game over.

In the post game interview Charlie apologizes for his horrible play calling at the end. Says next time he run Hughes in the wildcat instead.

Hilarious. Big Ten refs. I tell ya.

Charlie gets gatoraide bath and we win out including bowl game. Th

For one thing, I don't think I ever want anyone to mention Charlie and a bath ever again.

Secondly... would a win over Pitt in the regular season really be cause for him getting the Gatorade poured on him?

No.

A Gatorade bath will only be warranted if we win out and that Gatorade bath should be provided at the end of the bowl game.

At this point, yes. I know some will say "it's only Pitt." But, they are ranked 8 and 9 respectively in the AP and Coaches Polls. They are #12 in the BCS. This could quite possibly be Weis' greatest victory if ND were to pull it off.

ND-34
Pitt- 17

Clausen throws for 350+ couple TD's
Riddick shows that he should have been the starter all along

The D allows a few big plays, but the red zone D holds strong limiting them to few points.

Go Irish!

Going to channel my inner Lou Holtz and use a little reverse psychology.

"I'd be amazed if we get 1 first down before the end of the first half. Look at their offensive line, we're puny in comparison. Bill Stull may be the best quarterback we've played in the last 10 years. If we play our best game of the season and Pitt plays their worst, we might be able to stay within 4 touchdowns but I doubt it. This team scares me to death."

There that should do the trick. 28-24 ND

No chance we beat Pitt. Way too many problems to fix in weeks worth of prep.

We're playing a Pro-Style O this week, something we've done vs. all but two weeks of the season.

We've got something to play for and an emotional edge.

We come out firing. Jimmy has a game to get him back into serious Heisman contention.

ND 35-Pitt 24.

I don't have a score, something along the lines of what jasonh said, but I think the key (as it has been all year) is to stop the passing game. I don't like Stull, but can't discount his growth this year, I'm waiting to see if he's the real deal. We have to lock up Baldwin and match up well with Dorin Dickerson to keep the offense in check. I am probably in the minority after the Navy game, but I think the run D will be fine because they have played well against traditional running teams.

This game will show a lot about the character of this team. To go in and beat a Pitt team that has a lot to play for at home will set the tone for the final three games. They obviously can't come out and feeling sorry for themselves. It's time to show where we belong.

Let's see what happens. I'm fired up.

(I just started the grill to fry some goat eggs, and burned my hair).

Where do you get your goat eggs? I've tried Whole Foods, my local Co-op and Farmer's market. I've even reached out to neighbors with urban chicken coops. There seem to be some local ordinances and a health code or three against goat coops. No luck.

Do you grill over charcoal (Kingsford, Natural,Mesquite, etc,) or propane? How do you like your goat eggs? Hard boiled, soft boiled, poached, over easy, basted, sunny side up, in a venison/mushroom/onion/cheddar omelet topped with sour cream?

" ... there's nothing like the smell of burning hair in the morning."

I say we get the team psyched up to beat Pitt by threatening to serve them nothing but Iron City Beer should they lose.

I reach into the goat and grab the eggs. I'm badass that way. Everyone knows that goats store eggs right? In their vaginal region? Right? Anyone? Anyone?

I'm lazy. I use MatchLight charcoal. Pre-added fluid. But that also adds to my badassness. Just cuz I say so.

Wut?

We make Dion Lewis look like Montel Harris did when we played BC. Stull makes a few big plays to Baldwin but we keep the run game in check and get two interceptions, one on a tipped pass at the line. 28-21 Irish.

This game will tell alot about our team. To win on the road against a top ten team is exactly what this team needs right now. If we lay an egg, we might as well view the next 3 games as Charlie's exit from the hottest seat in collage football and another long year in 2010. However if they do win than the question has to be asked, " why can't you fellers get your crap together when you play the Navies of the world?" Go IRISH!!!

We win only if we leave Tenuta in So. Bend and let Bryant be Def. Coord. for this game. And, we must hold their running game to 200 yards or less. Otherwise, the outcome is Pittsburg by 21- 30 points. It hurts to print this.

This isn't really going out on a limb but I think we will win, and if we don't, it will be close, Pitt will NOT blow us out, the only way I see a lopsides victory is in our favor....I have watched Pitt a couple of times, the freshman rb is a good player, but if we just slow him a bit we win.

Everyone that picked Pitt to win on this forum should put a gun in your mouth....

Dude, seriously? Even if you are kidding and trying to be funny, that is a pretty f-ed up thing to say. We have debates and discussions that get heated, but some things cross a line and shouldn't even be joked about. So, if you're joking - it wasn't funny and if you're serious - f- off!

You mean everybody being objective and not making picks based on their feelings? (Which is not to say that some people picking ND don't have some sound logic behind that opinion)

Actually, the people who deal well with reality aren't usually the ones who end up "putting the gun in their mouth". BTW....I don't think suicide is something to be made light of.
