I read a lot about how this type of lose is typical, but I disagree. I remember going to Oklahoma and winning, I remember watching everyone storm the field when they took Clemson down. This was two good but not perfect teams facing off in a very competitive and close outcome. Now Notre Dame has a choice, give up cause they lost an emotional game they felt was theirs to win, not show up or they put their pants and boots back on and take this lesson forward and be the best of themselves.

Lol. You’re blaming the media and a 90 yr former coach. That’s quite the take.
Not blaming anyone. But you would see the new, instead of the repeated old...

In his defense he tried to get the guy from Utah but Notre Dame cried poor and wouldn’t pay up. He got the message from Jack and the gang that a “National search” meant looking around the Gug.
Yea, yea, yea. We all know none of this is Freeman’s fault. Best gig in sports

JD’s pass interference on Henderson too.
Yeah but can we talk about how insane it was to put him in that situation multiple times? My wife said “do we have a white safety? He seems slow” And I had to explain to her that no, that’s our middle linebacker but we put him BY DESIGN 1v1 with an NFL RB in coverage.

I really feel like we overall had a great game plan and execution on defense but got totally lost in the sauce when it came to crunch time. Seemed like a lot of busts, mistakes, and general panic.

I have given up. Straight up I have given up on us ever actually competing for anything in my lifetime. We simply do not have what it takes.

A couple weeks ago I literally attempted to kill myself. I had the rope around my neck and was checking for structural integrity. I literally put it off partly because I thought that I wanted to get through football season. Even in my darkest moment, I had the hope that we might do something. This team literally gave me life.

But that is gone.

We will never win another championship. We probably won't break our NY6 streak before that term literally doesn't mean anything anymore. We will never be anything other than what all our critics say we are. That was proven before the game when we let yet another team paint our stands. The game just solidified it.

Hopefully I find something else to keep me on this earth before my next breakdown, but that thing will definitely no longer be Notre Dame.

Ohio St. got so lucky. ND was the much, much better team. They had so many chances to win. I sure hope they both run the table and meet in the playoffs because ND is 21 points better. If that screen wasn't tipped, he is gone. 21-10 win. Catch the INT. Hartman running on 4th and 1 twice. Etc, etc, etc. ND moved the ball at will and shut OSU down. Painful loss. Will be really hard to beat Duke after this emotional game. They are playing great!

I was stunned JD was allowed to travel downfield with Henderson. I didn’t like the adjustment, or lack thereof, once MHJ got hurt. Harper got tore up by Emeka. As soon as MHJ was hurt, BenMo should’ve been glued to Emeka.

Still though, I place the blame mostly on Parker. His play-calling was awful and that last series was mind numbingly dumb.

McCord struggled with bodies around him all night.

I don’t think you blitz 8, but why not stay in base D that’s been effective all night?
Because it’s 3rd and 19 with 10 seconds to go and they have no timeouts. You’re trying to prevent a touchdown. And keep everything in front. It makes complete sense. Problem was Henderson left the middle of the field wide open.

Has anyone actually attended the OSU? Black mold and feces is the best way to describe my visit 4 times. This was the 90's... But i've heard It really hasn't changed much.

Yeah but JD is the leader of the defense and ensures we are properly lined up, have everyone in position, at least 10 guys on the field, etc…

Honestly don't think I felt this bad even after the Bama loss in '13. SO MANY things had to go wrong in order to lose. And they all did. Absolutely wild. I would say I expect more form our safeties but that's what happens when you never sign any of your targets.

Stupid to go with a 3 man rush especially when we seemed to be getting decent pressure.

I understand what you’re saying but you want him to get the ball out quickly and tackle in-bounds. Even if it’s a first down, they spike it, they have one shot and a lot of yards to cover.

This one hurts a lot, let’s hope ND wins out and that should secure a playoff spot. I’ve always enjoyed this site but I think I’m going to step back for awhile. Go Irish

One thing we can say about the coaches is they did make changes at halftime. Only to lose it in the last 4 mins.
