Its pathetic that I'm beginning to respect Lane Kiffin more than the SEC coaches, and I'm not kidding.

Did you read the story on ESPN the other day? Apparently Kiffin met with Manti away from the media and told him it was an honor to coach against him and good luck in the championship.

It blew my mind.

I feel like that scene in Step Brothers when Ferrell and Reilly look at each other and say, "wait, did we just become best friends?" What is going on?!?

To all of asking how to respond to SEC taunts

To all of asking how to respond to SEC taunts

Simply point to the Coaches Poll. ALL the SEC Coaches except Vanderbilt's voted ND #1.

Yet even he ranked ND #4 in the nation, not 7th in the SEC.

Where do you think Saban would have put them if ND and Bama were fighting for the last spot in the title game? Easy to vote ND one when you know you are two....He put Oklahoma State at 5 last year for crying out loud.

Can we try to call him by his real last name Satan?

Good thing this will be settled on the field, once and for all.

Though even a Notre Dame win over Alabama may not be enough to convince everyone that the Irish are the nation's best team.

And we're not talking about also undefeated Ohio State, either, which could theoretically win the AP title with a Notre Dame loss on Jan. 7.

Three coaches voted the Crimson Tide ahead of the Irish in the final regular-season USA Today coaches' poll.

What's more — one voted Notre Dame No. 4, behind Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Vanderbilt's James Franklin picked three of his fellow SEC teams ahead of the Irish, while Middle Tennessee's Rick Stockstill and Texas Tech's Tommy Tuberville both voted Notre Dame second behind the Tide.

Franklin voted his Commodores 16th. They finished outside the top 25.

I'm curious as to why Franklin rated them so low. I really would like to hear his reasoning; assuming he is the one who filled out the ballot.

Ok. I called in today to the local radio station - 104.5 The Zone after the DP Show. I asked them why they thought the reasoning would be for Franklin and his voting. Of course, they cannot speak for Franklin but, Paul Kuharsky's first reaction was, (paraphrased) He loves the SEC!!! Now, they did talk and say they could see - possibly - alabama ranked 1 and ND 2 but not below florida or georgia. And this is strictly talking about Franklin. So in a nutshell, he is an SEC homer. They really thought it was out of form to vote his own team that high. It is not unheard of to fudge a spot or two but from out of the top 25 to 16, they thought was uncalled for and thought he should have rethought that vote.

Like I said earlier, I like James Franklin. He is actually a nice guy and very funny but, this is out of character for him to do. I look forward to his interview coming up and if I can, I will try and get on or see if they ask him why he voted the way he did.

GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mean Kuharsky let you talk? I have to switch the station every time he gets on one of his rants. I was in and out of the car this afternoon so I didnt hear most of their show. Kuharsky is a tool.

Yea, he is but, he always has stats to back up his claims and opinions. I don't like him much either but I would listen to him wayyyyyyy before I listen to Clay Travis.

Yep I agree with that. I used to not even listen to the wakeup zone during college football season because Mark Howard bashed the Irish all the time. He has been very complimentary of them this season. Surprisingly.

I don't like listening to Mark Howard because I don't care if he is interviewing the President, he will interrupt you mid-sentence every freakin' time. He WILL NOT let someone finish a statement without being Mr. Buttinski.....

Yeah he and Kuharsky are like that. I refuse to listen to Clay Travis. I am surprised at Stockstill's vote. We sat out in that Troy game and froze our nuts off. He repays me like that. I bet there wasn't 8k there. They reported way more in attendance but it was nowhere near 13k.

Well, he was at South Carolina before he was HC at MTSU. Then again, he was under Holtz one year before Spurrier. But who cares right!!!!!! We are numero uno!!!!

Thus establishing that Kuharsky isn't the dullest tool in the box.

I wish Todd Grantham would have kicked his *** last year at the Ga/Vandy game. I was at that one too. Vandy played well. I guess I have to travel to attend different teams games now. Bummer
