Really? I've been kind of unimpressed. They're big but Va Tech has been playing sloppy and has had some real opportunities to put points on the board. A championship caliber team isn't going to need to sacrifice safety play to stop the run against this team either.

That's fine, but how are you unimpressed? Their defense is gang tackling and their offense is moving the ball on every play.

Virginia Tech is awful. Ohio State's schedule is embarrassing. The ESPN hype machine played this game up but this is a 6-6 team in the ACC at best.

Just looking at their schedule (literally one ranked team), they have the easiest path to the CFP, and will be able to rest all season while backups are out there playing patty cakes with their opponent for a whole half every week.

Yup. 32% chance to win out per FPI. Baylor is closest at 13%. Everyone else is in single digits.

Sparty is the only chance, and I'm including the championship game.

Unimpressed because a lot of Va Tech's drives have stalled because their QB can't hit a WR to save his life or the WR drops a ball. On offense they look really really good BUT there have been several plays of Cardale running that a think a larger, better tackling team would put a stop to.

I'm not saying they look bad obviously, but I guess after the playoffs I was expecting a more well-oil machine a la Alabama. Right now they just look like an average-coached team that is benefiting from their superior athletes and the other team playing inept.

... I also said they were playing inept. I don't really know how else to say it. I think OSU is playing good borderline great football, I just think Va Tech looks really really bad and a better team would currently have this game within a touchdown at least.
