Not sure it was Giannis hate, but I was hearing a lot of talk on sports radio questioning if he was that good and could he carry a team? Most of it was because of his FT shooting. He shut them up!

It started as soon as he won the first MVP award and they fell out of the playoffs. Couldn't carry a team, isn't a star, etc. etc. He's 26 years old and just won it. LOL.

The moment he enjoyed a drop of individual success and the team faltered, the narrative started.

Crickets this week.

So is it going to be the Superteams Finals next year? Brooklyn vs the Lakers. I think all their stars are also fit for the coming season.

We'll see. New blood is rising. Wouldn't pencil anyone in, especially in mid-late August.

Yeah. I would particularly like guys like Booker and Williamson to continue their rise. But at 36, Lebron is still putting in the numbers. I think even Jordan retired when was 35.

Jordan retired three times as I recall. The final time as a Washington Wizard.

Zion is going to miss the start of the season.

I can't help but fear that his build isn't going to allow him to last long in the NBA. Such a crazy talent but he's got offensive line measurables for professional basketball.

The only players better than him right now are Giannis, Embiid, Lebron and Jokic.

Electric stuff.

My fear also.

HIs explosiveness and quickness were astounding with his body.

But when he blew up those Nikes at Duke it raised questions that his body was so advanced that it was not meant to play
this game
on these surfaces
with this equipment.

Best line i ever hear about Zion was from Tim Legler "Zion defies genetic coding"

But I know what I saw when I saw it. He was different, beautifully so. One of a kind.

He should've been a Notre Dame TE, could've been an absolute unit.

Seeing mocks with Blake Wesley going in the mid 20s. This really might be best. Get on a decent playoff team and absorb, develop. Going to a bad team where they're depending on you sooner than later may not be the best situation for him.

Second round playoffs have been outstanding. Contentious after a very subdued first round. They're not running around suplexing each other like the 80s and 90s, which I'm sure disappoints many, but it's been fun. The teams squaring off don't like each other.....or the referees. Bucks-Celtics has been fantastic so far, and if you truly like defense first basketball brutality, tune into that.

The intensity of this Bucks-Celtics series dialed up a bit more last night. Al Horford finding the fountain of youth wasn't on my 2022 sports bingo card.

Grizzlies without Ja Morant have no chance against Golden State. They went 20-5 in the regular season without him, but this is Golden State in the playoffs. Can't be done without the man.

That one hurt. Boston tried to milk the clock the last few minutes and ended up with some bad offensive possessions. Respect to Giannis and the Bucks. Played like champs. Great series so far.

However, I still think GS gets it done.

Turned the Bucks game off only to find this morning that they won.

Grizzlies had 18 offensive rebounds. We're about to find out if Golden State can take the physical challenge.

I just kept thinking to myself yesterday, "Marvin Bagley was drafted one spot ahead of Luka."

Sheesh.

The Celtics are incredibly frustrating to watch as a fan. They’ll look unstoppable one quarter/game then look like one of the worst teams the next. I know that’s common across the NBA but seems like they have much wilder swings. I’ve never seen a team look so dominant yet constantly shoot themselves in the foot.

I concur. It's bizarre.

Was really hoping Ivey would fall to #6 so the Pacers could grab him. Kid from Duke going #1 wasn't on any of the predictions I saw.

Wesley to the Spurs at #25.

Banchero going first overall was just weird. It almost felt like the Magic were just trying to pull a fast one.

Spurs had three first round picks and nailed them all as far as I'm concerned. Wesley getting drafted by Poppovich will not be the worst thing to happen to him.
