1) Take a breath

2) Hold

3) Release

+ These dudes didn’t fold. They didn’t quit. That’s a reflection of our coach. We obviously didn’t reach the pinnacle tonight. Okay. But we’re closer.

+ If you want to blame Al? Fine. If you want to blame Christian Gray, fuck you.

+ It’s not Jeter’s fault either.

+ This season was awesome. I love you guys. Let’s tailgate for the spring game.

Hope springs eternal. WE ARE ND! ☘️

This season was a success. Thank you to all of the players and coaches. They left everything on the field, Ohio State is just a more talented team, and more often than not, the more talented team wins.

I do hope, however, that this lights a fire under the ass of the donors and Administration.

There's no reason why ND fans shouldn't be able to contribute to the NIL collective(s). That needs to change. Fans of Oregon, Ohio State, and the SEC schools are allowed to contribute to their team's collectives. Folks that cover Ohio State said that the donations by the fans contributed to them being able to buy Caleb Downs from Bama.

The NIL collective needs to grow. Based on what John Brice said, ND's payroll was around $7 Million. That's not good enough. Not saying they need to be like Oregon and Ohio State and have a $20-25 Million payroll, but there's no reason why ND shouldn't be in the $12-15 Million range. They need to be able to buy more top-tier recruits and portal players.

Admissions needs to stop being holier than thou with respect to undergrad transfers. Stanford took a kid this year, who was just 2 years out of High School and was transferring from his 2nd school. He started out at Northern Iowa. If Stanford can take an undergrad, who is now on his 3rd school in 3 years and started out at a mediocre Academic Institution like Northern Iowa, then there's no reason why ND can't be much more lenient with undergrad transfers.

Does anyone else feel like if we just attack OSUs DBs all game we win? They seemed to really suck in the second half. Or was it because they were playing conservative or other reasons? I really don’t know.
Yes. They knew going in that #1 led the nation in flags. Downs is a stud but the rest are mortal.

Hell of a season.

Not all positives, especially falling short at the end. But, you know what, as I said in the gameday thread, I'm not bummed out. This team and program fights. I don't know when ND will be back in this game, but I firmly believe they will be competing every season to get back to the Championship.

This won't be a TCU or Washington like fall from the top.

- They couldn’t tackle for two straight first halves. I don’t have an explanation for that

- Conservative game plan from offense and defense with starts with Freeman doomed them if they didn’t execute on key downs. Lack of aggression is not how the team got here

- Howard balled out. They were not gonna win without a Howard mistake. He didn’t make one all night.

- Offense as a whole played fine. I think only team aside from Oregon to score 21

- Defense felt helpless when you combine the first two bullet points. Just not really any negative plays for 3.5 quarters

Golden lost the “headset battle” big time to Kelly. It wasn’t even close. I know Al had less to work with but it was like OSU knew what ND’s defense was going to do before every play.

We came in trying to ball control and didn't start letting Riley sling it until it was too late.
