Cormani McClain commits to Miami in a big upset over Florida and Bama. Was a lock to Florida until the hour when he got NIL’d

He’ll never play one snap of important football at Miami, but I’m always happy when a top player doesn’t go to Alabama/Georgia/Ohio State. The Florida schools being trash for so long is a big reason why there’s no parity at the top.

Whispers of Caleb Downs and Justin Haynes potentially flipping to Georgia … it doesn’t hurt that they were at the Georgia v Tennessee game.

I’m sure this might be a slight overreaction, but I get the sense that the Alabama dynasty window is closing.

Until Bama signs consecutive classes outside the top 3, I won’t believe it.

IMO they'll still be plenty good, but NIL will level the playing field a bit more. There's holes in their roster that haven't been there recently. Their WR talent in particular has fallen off a cliff.

And their defense kinda sucks ass. That’s the biggest surprise to me.

I don’t know if there was a position coach that was as good a recruiter but bad a coach out there. Dude is responsible for almost every elite recruit UNC gets but has never produced on the field results.

2024 DeMatha Catholic RB Tovani Mizzell just committed to UGA. Did some looking up on DeMatha recently:

2024: Georgia
2023: OSU, South Carolina, Va Tech, BC
2022: PSU, Rutgers
2021: LSU, Michigan St, USC, Pitt
2020: South Carolina, PSU, PSU, WVU, BC
2019: Maryland, Alabama

DeMatha theoretically should be a gold mine for ND but it looks like from this, and someone from the area could shed a light, it’s not been school in general pushing kids to ND or you’d think on the second tier Duke, Vandy etc besides BC nabbing a few kids. Played as a HS way more as either sending kids local or to football factories.

Anybody else notice UGA going hard after safeties? They just got CBed by Fong for #1 KJ Bolden. They have #3 Jalen Heyward, #4 Peyton Woodyard, and #7 Demello Jones already committed. Not to mention the #1 CB Ellis Robinson IV is committed as well.

The Traditional LB is a thing of the past. MIKE LB's will eventually be the same size as SS from the early 2000s. No more Alvin Mack's thumping in the middle.

this is why Tommy Rees is bringing 3 TE sets to the SEC clearly
