I think I am turning into DShans, except I am politically polar opposite from him. But, I just noticed that there is an apostrophe (the "crux of the biscuit") missing in the thread "Mr. McGibblets thoughts." Unless there is more than one Mr. McGibblets. But there is no evidence of that, as his posts seem pretty consistent--no signs of schizophrenia or split personalities. Probably just one of those damned punctuation errors.

Other than that, my mind is a blank, as Alex from "A Clockwork Orange" would say. Maybe I'll have another thought or two sometime in the next few days.

So:

Mr. McGibblets' Thoughts

-or-

Mr. McGibblets's Thoughts

I just had this conversation at work the other day, with a mechanical engineer. They seem to think they know everything.

lol.

I think either would be acceptable. And either would be more correct than that abomination of punctuation that currently exists as a thread title (a thread title, for God's sake, which makes matters even worse!)

Ain't I smart? All tanks to public skoolz. :)

It would be Mr. McGibblets's thoughts. Because his name ends with an S. You'd use the other way (McGibblets') if there were more than one McGibblets. :)

Sniff, sniff --- I'm so happy! I want to thank all who are actively taking some of the heat off of me with regard to spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Sometimes I feel so alone ...

JohnnyK: I appreciate your link. It bears (not "bares") out my gut feelings on the whole McGibblets's vs McGibblets' issue. I now have no need to quote Strunk & White's Elements of Style.

NankerP: You should be flattered ... your thoughts are more often scattered than purposeful. Some might even say they are shattered and in tatters.

BeauB: Thanks for posting "For What It's Worth." That's one of my favorite songs.

ACamp: Hang tough. Some day it all may make some sense ... but don't count on it.

Above all, Keep On Keepin' On.

Last night I received an early Father's Day present. It's a device called a "Beertender." It's basically a miniature "kegerator," for those 5 liter kegs of beer you can buy. Got one of those, too. Heineken Light. A very nice little addition to my home bar.

Well, after setting it all up, the challenge was there, so I took it. After consuming about 4.5 liters of the little keg, I had this strange desire to hear some music I hadn't heard for a long time. So, I blasted Alice Cooper's greatest hits.

My last thought before passing out was that the guitar riff in "Muscle of Love" is just flat-out kick-***. It is iconic, like "Smoke on the Water," or "Jumpin' Jack Flash." It deserves that sort of recognition. Listened to it again today sober, and confirmed that thought.

That is the only other thought I have had since obsessing over Mr. McGibblets' thread title. Yeah, DShans, you're right. Shattered (shidoobee).

At times I do the same with The Grateful Dead – the 1969 recording at Fillmore East. Not Fade Away/Goin' Down The Road, in particular get me on my feet. I bob my head, play Garcia air guitar, air drum Mickey Hart and bounce/twirl/stumble about.

My son would hide in his room when this mood hit me. He was glad that I showed restraint when he had friends over.*

*Except for that one time when he was 9. He gave me a good heart-to-heart talking to and it never happened again.

Plug in "thrice" for "trice" and try once more. Though "in a moment; very quickly" may well be an apt comment in this cut-and-paste internet world.

Heaven forbid that one should ignore a link or inducement to "play" anything on the web. It can't hurt you and it's always well worth the time ...

Yeah, I think HCTI meant twice, if he was referring to the videos I posted.

Let me spell it out: The first one (I am typing slowly so that everyone can hear me) is "Satisfaction." The second video is "Miss You."

I think he might be talking about me. I tried last night to post three Stones videos: "Little Queenie" and "Carol" from 1969 and "Let It Rock" from '78. All Chuck Berry covers, because my thought for the night was "They don't get much better than when they are out-Chucking Chuck." But, because I am pretty technologicaly inept, I posted "Carol" three times. Then, I got disgusted and just deleted the whole damn thing. So, my fault.

Oh. I thought you were axing if a woodchuck could chuck wood, how much wood would a woodchuck hump. My bad. What is a Chuck Berry? Does they chucks wood? Click on the the "share" and then, "embed." Do your homework.

Well, if I could figure out how to embed the videos I wanted to, maybe I could change your mind, maybe not. I can figure out how to embed one video in a post, but when I try to do multiples, I get it all screwed up.

Which might not be all bad, anyway. Got to get on to another thought sometime this week, so I can catch up with McGibblets.
