Richard Jewell
Producer: Clint Eastwood
Crazy how this old cat keeps throwing the kids under the bus! It's as If he says grow the fuck up more and more with every film he creates.

Silliness needs to be looked at as a threat.

Having trouble embedding for some reason but I just watched the trailer for Greyhound... hopefully it lives up because my first thought was "Keep talking dirty to me."

how many of you go see movies in the theatres? After middle school touch and feel movie sessions I just have never been a "see it in the theatre" guy. last few movies i've coughed the money up for were star wars just because how much i like the movies and its been something to do over xmas vacation. Other than that Ill wait until its on rental. I would way rather pay $5/6 to rent it off a streaming service and watch in my home vs $50 to have the "date night"

I see very few in the theaters... my Cali buddies, wife and father in law are all major "Let's go to the movies!" people so at times any of those three will drag me along. The amount of films i actively sought out to go see in the theaters over the last ten years I can prob count on one hand:

1917
Peanuts Movie (Prob the best in theater experience I've had in years to be honest, I left wanting to immediately buy the blu ray and watch it again with my youngest)
Spectre
The New Halloween
Force Awakens (gross)

those are a few that come to mind... and that's about it. I was hyped for Midway and then the reviews came out and it felt too Michael Bayish... still haven't seen it.

Hardly ever go. Honestly I don't watch a lot of movies anymore. I've lost interest in all the superhero overload crap, have little stomach for the punch you in the face woke shit in a lot of movies these days, and overall there's just a lack of quality. I typically try to watch some of the big nominees, but even those disappoint a lot these days. I have the patience for most to fall to HBO, Netflix, Amazon, etc., and I can watch whatever else on Kodi. When I do go, it's a movie I specifically want to see on the wide screen, or when I'm down in Naples. I think I've went to the theater more in Naples the past couple years than here at home.

I don't go often like I did when my kid was younger but we still go 2-3x a year. There are some movies that are meant to be seen in a theater (Star Wars - Avengers - Avatar). the lastone I saw was Ford v. Ferarri. I'm a Shelby guy so I had to go.

As for it being a date night thing, the new breed of recliner/food/beer establishments make it better for us. We have a small chain here called Roadhouse Cinema and they have an extensive offering of Arizona Crafts which I enjoy.

To ACamp:

I wanted to see Midway at the theater but it didn't work out so I waited and just watched it at the crib. I gave it an 8. Yes it's got some touchy feely Pearl Harbor moments but I really enjoyed it besides that.

Full Disclaimer: I REALLY liked Battleship which nobody liked cuz it was it felt like a Transformer was going to pop out of the Missouri's lower deck at any moment to save the day. But I'm too old to care so take that into my eval on Midway.

I'll see it at some point I'm sure... I don't mind the love story stuff as much as the new age, over the top cgi combat etc... you should be able to tell a good war story without being hyperbolic with what the action actually looked like.

when i still lived in indy i made sure when we DID go to the theater it was the Brewpix.

Bond and Star wars are about the only thing I can even convince myself are worth the money. If they EVER come out with another Avatar I think I would fork up the dough. the first one came out when I was still a young broke college kid who thought my money was best spent on bags of green. But while watching it on rental i realized I could have spared a couple blunts to watch it at the theater.

Like ACamp - I too felt the superhero thing has got a little too overloaded and its a shame that the "best movies" for a decade have all been marvel/superhero esque. No money of mine went to the box office on these.

Constantly. It's one of me and my wife's favorite activities to do together. We go at least once a week. Probably going tonight in fact. Debating between the Lodge and Parasite a second time.

We go on occasion. Mainly because the GF wants to keep me away from a bar...half kidding. :) Last we saw at the theatre was Richard Jewel.

FIFY

We've been to the theater just once in the last 7-8 years and like YJ, it was while we were in FL. Took a couple of the granddaughters along and had some time to kill so we saw the latest Toy Story. The recliners are nice.
