Tenet.

It's dope, but I'm still confused. I may have to watch it again. If you haven't seen it, just remember the pointing Spider-Man meme.

I've heard it's ambitious, which is intriguing. Initially the trailer and premise turned me off, but I'm interested in seeing it. Sadly I'm not really in the mood to go to a theater at this time...

I'd go check out the Tenet sub reddit. The top posts of all time are very informative. There's even a timeline infographic someone put together that really cleared some of it up for me.

Overall I enjoyed it. Good fun action film. Not one of Nolan's best though. That said sub par Nolan is still better than 95% of the crap Hollywood puts out right now.

Also idk on VOD how it is, but in theaters the sound mixing was legitimately terrible. People complained about TDKR, which I never had a problem with, but there were several sections during Tenet where I felt Nolan was intentionally trolling the audience. The sail boat scene in particular was unbelievably bad.

It's online; someone ripped it. If you know anyone with a Plex server, they can upload it.

I watched it with headphones and I had no problem hearing the dialogue. I think the one part where people had the most complaint is when Neal took the initial tour of the Freeport. However, I don't think the dialogue was necessary, because they come right back to the major points when the Protagonist, Neal, and their co-conspirator run through the drills. The boat scene was also tough, but I think the movie has redundant portions of exposition which come back to what is happening.

I think the music was meant to impart tension and anxiety. Still don't understand some of the time loops, though. Like, where did the story start and end? I saw a pictogram on the Tenet sub-reddit, but I was on mobile so it was way too small to go over.

Watched Tenet this morning. Thought it was pretty good, not great. I didn't think it was too hard to follow. Mind bending a bit, but not mind breaking.. They did a pretty decent job of coming back to some of the stuff. It's not a movie you can watch with only half of your attention.

The thing I liked least about it, was the immediate/auto-accepting from all the characters when they find out about time travel and the inverted nature of things. They're not like, "no way", or "WTF", they just accept it like a typical "the sky is blue" moment and proceed to cope with the new-new without losing a beat. Also, the killing of the one of the characters should have altered things at the end, but it didn't... That lacked logic, but I'm fine with it.

I love Washington, and thought he did pretty good, but not sure if they casted that role correctly. Debicki did well, and was great on the eyes. Good acting, and she's a nice tall drink of water. Pattinson, who I was down on going into the show, surprised me and did very well. Liked Branagh and Caine too. Should have had more Posey.

I really liked how they tied up the Pattinson/Washington relationship at the end, as well as the girl diving, and Kapadia's character. Wouldn't mind a part 2

-----spoiler alert (maybe)------
It started when it started, just have to kinda accept that with travelling back, anything "now" might have been already impacted. Washington's character obviously has to go through his early storyline before going back to the earlier times not shown in the movie. The only thing that really confused me and took a few takes was following the pincer aspects. The only thing I though lacked logic was when they killed a key character at the end. At the time of his killing, it should have impacted every thing that person did later (like what they divided up, and Washington and Debicki meeting and her having he phone, etc.). I can understand that those travelling may retain the memory, but the actions themselves should be altered.

From what I read, will have a different beginning, different end, some different scenes, and different sequencing. Theaters the 4th, streaming the 8th.

I just watched 2000's Requiem For A Dream with Jennifer Connelly and Jared Leto. What a brutal look at drug addiction! They all end up ruining their lives. Just a dark, depressing, savage movie, but really well done with a great cast. One of the most disturbing, yet best movies I've seen in awhile.

Very good movie. And yes, depressing as hell. Very different stories and flavors, but Leaving Las Vegas gave me a similar feel. At least I got some laughs out of Leaving Las Vegas. The liquor shopping scene...

Watched Let Him Go (Costner, Lane). Good acting, good cinematography, decent story, bad writing. Could have been so much better IMO.

I was hoping that would be a good one. I like both the stars. I'll probably not watch it if it's not worth it.

I stumbled across Jennifer Connelly on Letterman from 25 years ago as she was talking about her new movie Higher Learning (1995). It sounded great and has an incredible cast. Ugg, it was awful. Just about every character was a two-dimensional cliché, and the story was so incredibly predictable and preachy. It was like an ABC after school special, but with better actors. Two hours of my life wasted and Jennifer Connelly, the main reason I watched it, only had a minor role.

Watched “Fury” on Prime. Wasn’t expecting much but was impressed. Really good. I could even tolerate Shia LaBeouf being in it.

Found a western from 2015 w/ Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson & Matthew Fox called “Bone Tomahawk”. Not the most traditional premise but worth watching. Not recommending it as “must see”. One of the most graphic violent scenes near the end that I’ve ever seen.

I didn't think it was great, but didn't think it was horrible either. I think some of the cliché was very much intended. BTW, love Connelly too. One bonus in that movie was a young smoking hot Tyra Banks. Thought the rappers (IC/BR) did pretty well too. I guess when I saw it years ago, I just didn't expect that much, and kinda expected a "Singleton" vibe.

Not bad, just not great. If you like Lane and Costner, might be worth a watch on a slow day.., just don't have have high expectations.

I get that some of it was maybe intentionally corny and clichéd. It just didn't do anything for me. I agree that Ice Cube and Busta did pretty well. I've always liked Omar Epps. As for Tyra, I thought she looked weird in this movie. She can be great looking, but something about her in this one made her look freaky/alien/weird most of the time. Hard to explain, but I found myself in most of her scenes thinking, "WTF??? Is that really Tyra?" Anyway, not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was a big disappointment and I wish I'd used that two hours to cut my toe-nails, scrub the tub, clean up after the dog or something else more interesting and fun. :)

I'm watching Apocalypto tonight (probably won't finish it until tomorrow). It's really good. It's the Mel Gibson produced/written/directed film about a village of Mayans who get killed or captured by another more powerful group. I'm about halfway through and it's one of the best films I've seen in awhile. The story's pretty savage and brutal, but extremely well-done film in every way.

Yeah, it was definitely slow which I was fine with. Wilson’s character having the bum leg was getting old but it played to the plot. Kurt Russell is just a pro in whatever he does. I liked how in the end, the matronly, obedient wife was out of her element and went off on Russell & his deputy being idiots and they couldn’t argue with her. Damn when they split that dude in half though.

I really enjoyed this movie. Watched it a third time with the wife. After it's over she immediately turned and said "what the hell just happened?" and I'm like "Don't think about it, just feel it."

Been a long time since I watched the movie (when it came out). I just remember more than anything thinking of Gibson differently after watching it.

Man, what a rough scene. Good example of why you shouldn't mess with drugs.

That whole movie was just rough. Speaking of rough to watch and double dongs, Nymphomaniac (2 parts)...

I'm bummed. Back home in Indy, a buddy and I were supposed to watch the games today, then watch Tenant again (he hasn't seen it). He came down with the bug early this week.

I watched the 2001 Johnny Depp film Blow this weekend. Rather well done and definitely worth the watch. On my wife's rec, I started the 2005 film Memoirs Of A Geisha today. So far it's really good. Great cinematography and acting.

Jojo Rabbit was hilarious. Good satire of a young German boy in WWII era Germany being groomed to be a Nazi when he's not really cut out for it. Taika Waititi plays a cowardly, dumb Hitler who is really just a part of the young boy's conscience. I thought it was great from start to finish. Plus Scarlett Johansson is in it. I waited way too long in getting around to watching it but I'm glad I finally did.

Midway was meh... I enjoy war movies so it kept me entertained but there were a lot of issues with the movie like pacing and editing to name just a couple.
