This kid actually lives with his coach and is 18 years old, meaning Collins does not need a co-sign. His mother is just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame. Pretty pitiful if you ask me.
Just send another LOI and have him sign it. She's obviously an idiot. I'm starting to understand why he wants to go to school as far away as he is.

Yea, he should sign with USC.
Pretty sure I read he lives with his coach, but his mom is still his gaurdian. Also that he was only 17, so she did need to sign.
May be the case, but the mother is acting like a child. Period.

The National Letter of Intent, according to the NCAA's official website, is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. "If you are under the age of 21, regardless of marital status, your parent or legal guardian must sign the NLI in order for it to be considered valid," the website states.
Alex Collins has 418 yds, 2 td, and 6.0 ypc in his first 3 games at Arkansas. Granted they were against Louisiana-Lafayette, Samford, and Southern Miss but still it appears that this kid is the real deal. ould be scary good.
My son knows he gets a letter of intent that has the words "ann arbor" on it, and I will burn it up. No just kidding.
