Listen, I haven't said he isn't an explosive player and I didn't say he won't be a high pick. I said it's not crazy to think think that he slides, especially if he has a game in the bowl game like he did against Bama. It only takes one team to like him that high but if the consensus becomes that he is a liability against the run, then teams are less likely to use a high draft pick on him.

Oh and I love statements like this. Obviously, I didn't. And people said it was dumb then. I know he has 7 sacks but that is a awfully high to draft a guy who might not be able to play every down.

It's not too high in today's NFL. Getting pressure on the QB is essential to a defense success. If you show an innate ability to get to the passer you'll be drafted high.

Ok who do you think gets picked way ahead of their projected slots? The "John McCargo" pick where you are like WTF? That guy was a 3rd rounder at best!?

The problem is the position not the player in this case. Take a look at the NFL and other than Patrick Willis I don't know of another MLB that goes high enough with killer stats to match. Jarvis Jones as an OLB can play as an end if needed and therefore can provide a better value. Teo is not an all out pass rusher so hence he will fall for lack of sexiness.

If I click on it, is it going to show every pick being traded into a later round? Belichick has analogized the "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there, does it make a sound"? question to "If I have a draft pick and never use it, is it worth anything"?

Jones ways 240 pounds, how is he going to play defensive end?

I can see a team using him like the Steelers use Woodley (265 lbs)

Just so we are on the same page, if he was as fast as he is now and could add the 25 pounds I would agree but at 240 he would get crushed.

I guess I should have clarified maybe not as a true defensive end but as more of a pass rusher which Teo is not but the Woodley example is of a similar thought

After further thought you're right. I was thinking he could gain the weight but didn't consider the offset of speed. My bad...I'm suppose to be working.

Bruce Irvin 248 lbs.
Von Miller 238 lbs.
Just saying and they both get after the qb.

Speaking of Von Miller...Someone said we are getting back into the age of the elite pass rushers again. Similar to Bruce Smith, Derek Thomas and LT. Now there is JJ Watt, Von Miller and Aldon Smith.

Completely agree. We could use a new linebacker anyways...

Yeah unfortunately we could use help at a lot of positions!

The Chiefs need to draft Te'o. In a percect world they would trade back a couple, pick him, and get a late first round pick and take Tyler Wilson from Arkansas. Like AgentJ said, I thought Manti would be a good pick before, but w/ no Belcher now they need a MLB. Geno Smith or Matt Barkley is a reach that high, and I think Wilson isn't far from those guys. Take a 10 year starter (Te'o or not), and then take a QB in the second, and maybe even again later.

I'd rather have Ray Lewis than Alex Smith. That's what I see in this draft.

I agree completely that Geno and Barkley are not worth the #1 pick. Getting Te'o AND Tyler Wilson is a perfect outcome in my book.

I never said Jarvis Jones couldn't rush the passer at his size, what I said was that he can't play DE at his size.

And before you say that Irvin plays DE, I would say that he is not an everydown DE, look at his statistics 12 games, 7 solo tackles, 4 assited tackles for a total of 11. Yes he has 7 sacks but that is all that he does. Rush the passer and while he is very good at that, he is really just an OLB that they bring in to rush the passer in obvious passing situations.

I stopped reading this mock draft when they had Joekel(sp) going #1. There is no way that happens, KC needs a qb

Sigh, but there is no QB that you take at number 1. There just isn't. Who would you take at number 1? Barkley, Jones, Smith, Wilson?

QB isn't the only thing they need either. They should trade down if they want Joekel(sp)

The problem is that there really isn't anyone worth trading up for in this draft so who is going to trade with them? I think that Joekel is a great pick and will be a starting LT in the NFL for 10+ years while making some Pro Bowls. They could do much worse than that. LT goes at a premium. Now if they can get a team like the Raiders to trade up a couple of spots then that is a different story, trade away.

As a Giants fan, I would love a MLB but would love Tyler Eifert as we don't really have a compliment to Martellus Bennett. Tough choices.

Knowing them, they'll draft a DE that can play all 4 DL spots.

Manti would be perfect for what the Eagles need. He should be available for us to.

Manti Teo projects a lot better to the NFL than AJ Hawk did, but he went 5th overall to my beloved Packers. He has been serviceable, but Manti could be a true Ray Lewis type force. Also, he's the type of unique leader that RGIII is, able to lead as a rookie.

Also, I think Jones would look good in a 3-4 defense where he can rush the QB or set the edge every play like Ware, Miller, or Clay Matthews.

But he does play DE... correct?

Jarvis Jones could absolutely play DE in the NFL. He could be like all these other guys, "Pass Rush Specialist"...

To say otherwise is like saying a Nickel Corner really isn't a corner just because he isn't on the field every down...
