Sorry, gentlemen, for making you a bit queasy. I'm doing research on the grooming habits of neutered ruminants and saw a chance to get some data straight from the deer one's mouth, so to speak. It would save me a lot of time spent observing in the woods where I'd be prey to poison ivy, horse flies, black flies, gnats, mosquitoes, moose, wood ticks and deer ticks, etc.
