We’ll see. Didn’t mind imposing our will with the two te’s from time to time.

Our te recruiting has been better than our wr recruiting as well.
You can impose your will plenty of ways. ND has a couple really explosive running backs, it was foolish having them run between the tackles in 2/3 TE sets.

Sure we can do that against Syracuse and Navy, but it's hard to consistently score like that against elite competition

This was basically the operating theory when he was our OC before, wasn't it? Spread out the defense to create more running lanes. Ideally have a QB who's a threat with his legs so they have to account for him too. Also a big enough arm to throw it deep/outside. The power spread. Worked fairly well with Kizer and even Golson when he had his head on straight. CJ Prosise and Josh Adams ran for a lot of yards.

I wouldn’t say foolish

They wanted to wear out teams and by the fourth quarter be able to protect the lead. Michigan just won the natty with same model

He isn’t going to give it all away. He’ll still study the defenses and bring the game plan to the table.

Yeah, I get why they did it but they couldn’t do it.

Spread gets shut down by plenty of elite teams too. I’m just saying our te and ol recruiting has been better than wr of late.
I'd strongly argue WR recruiting has been better than TE in 2023 and 2024. We'll see if the tide shifts in 2025 but we still have a shot at 1-2 elite WRs

This is the greatest formation ever and we should use it every game. You won’t change my mind.

This man gets it.
“For those who know Notre Dame, no explanation’s necessary. For those who don’t, no explanation will suffice.” ~Lou
Amen:

“When Notre Dame called and we had a couple conversations, this is a place that I’ve always felt my heart was,” he said. “It’s where I always wanted to be. The opportunity to come back here presented itself, and it was a difficult decision but the right decision.”- Denbrock

My apologies if this has already been brought up but...

1) Any chance Freeman reached out to Denbrock last year when Rees left?

2) If that did happen, any chance Denbrock turned him down because he had Jayden Daniels at QB?

I’m sure there is a chance he reached out to Denbrock……..unfortunately we’ll never know all the folks who were contacted. I think it’s also reasonable to think Denbrock was not quite ready to bolt from LSU since he had just arrived and he had some star pupils in Daniels/WR room.

Not sure if it was this play or different one vs UNC at goal line with similar formation…. Every nd player pushed their guy into end zone but zeke got absolutely destroyed and the NT blew up the play

Curious as to whether Denbrock incorporates analytics into his play calling. It's all the rage in the NFL. I don't know where Notre Dame Football/Freeman stand on this currently in terms of utilization, staff, etc.

I'm going to assume that Parker did not.
