I have a feeling the committee will drop Miami to 4-5 and put us at 7-8. This way if Miami would somehow lose the ACC CCG they could justify keeping them in or dropping them out completely so the ACC only gets 1 team in? I really hope the committee puts us in that 7-8 range. I want that narrative to continue to piss off the team and for them to use that.

If that makes sense haha. Still a little hungover.

Not sure how this could happen if the committee has any consistency or method to their madness at all.

The committee seems to place a lot of value on who you beat rather than who you lost to. At least if you have lost a game(s). Thats a big part of why ND missed out last year and why they were #11 last week.

ND now has a win over Miami. Miami's best win is Wake Forest. And as we know, H2H matters.

It should be:

1) Georgia
2) Utah
3) UCLA
4) Notre Dame

Then a mess following that because it's Indiana, Miami, Alabama, and a bunch of teams who like to beat each other.

The committee is absolutely gonna make some comments about Toney being out. But he is out... and who knows if/when he will be back, or how effective he will be if he comes back.

Yep, it was evident MF had his fingerprints all over the D last night.

On Miami’s TD to Bartake, I was surprised we didn’t have a LB drop into the area to take away the slant.

I have no real expectations for the rankings on Tuesday. I think 5 is probably our ceiling. Anything between 5-7 wouldn't surprise me.

Yep… here’s what I’m thinking they’ll go with.
UGA, Utah, ucla, bama, Nd, Miami

I didn’t watch CFP Show but at some point didn’t they allow questions from local beat? I heard II discuss Mentock’s question to Yuracek. If so, Mentock or whomever needs to really have all the possible committee contradictions ready to be pointed out.

Feel free to correct or add any key points RE: Toney being out or controversial ref calls:

~Miami eked by FSU after 2OT and a questionable holding call. Same week ND was robbed of critical seconds by the clock operator

~Toney was a factor in both the FSU & UNC win. Both of which went down to the final play despite Miami being double digit favorites

~Speaking of UNC, Notre Dame also beat them in Chapel Hill…by double digits w/ zero drama at the end

~Toney doesn’t play defense so Miami still gave up 31 & could’ve been more had ND needed more scores at the end but they were in clock killing mode

What was that first penalty call - obvious false start called a delay of game on ND? Baffling.
Ausberry screamed and simulated the Miami snap count causing the o-line to move. It was a good, although rarely enforced, flag.

In fact, it was what BYU was bragging they did on Carr's fumble.

Jerkoffcheck specifically said one factor for ranking Bama so high was their win over Mississippi State, because State was good at the time. Even tho they've lost every game since. Make that make sense. Counted as a "quality" win now, tho they are 4-5 now. They can literally put ND anywhere and justify it with their bullshit justifications.

I think one angle everyone is underestimating is BYU acting as our ceiling in those first rankings. I think them losing and us getting a good win is going to make a big difference, because they won’t be depressing our potential ranking due to H2H anymore

For all the complaints about the music… I think it was as good of a production ND has put out. 4th quarter light show was fine.
These complaints about the music make me laugh
for a couple of years I wandered around in an RV. I always checked forums for reviews of various RV parks. And one of the most common that they think mattered WAS:
weak wifi

Not if the park was clean. Not if it was safe. Wah, the wifi was weak.

The problem is with the actual act of rankings... They should just say as of today here are the 12 teams... Next week here are the 12 teams... So on and so forth. Let the general public and media debate who is #1 and who is #12. There's your intrigue I suppose.

We all know the rankings are dumb even the last one. We all know they juggle teams around for TV ratings and matchups. We all know they rank to avoid rematches. We all know conferences want as many teams as they can in so it's not the "best 12".

The system is still broken.

This is what the kids call ethical hoops:

Toney this, Toney that. The better OL/DL won last night. The better OL/DL won last year. It’s that easy sometimes.

I think it’s kinda weird how Miami fans call Toney “Mali”. Are they on a first name basis with him now?

“We would’ve won if we had Mali”. Stfu. I don’t think they could deep throat him any harder.

This is a thing that is indeed being overlooked.

Beating high ranked teams has its perks.

A couple of take aways.

All year, the defense has been adjusting and reacting to what the opposing offense is doing. The game planning feels like adjusting to what the offense is presenting. This is the first game in 2026 that the defense said "we are going to come get you, react to us" Miami didn't have adjustments. I think this is because Freeman asserted himself into the defensive scheme.

Walton and Premier each was on the field at key times. Both are starting to understand the pass pro requirements/needs which has likely been holding each back. Walton was actually pretty good. Premier was targeted on a red zone play (if I'm not mistaken). I think that's an acknowldgement that if he can be adequate in pass pro, he offers something the other tight ends don't. If he can't be adequate, the other TE's get the snaps.

Offense still feels vanilla. I don't know if that's Carr or Dembrock. There were a few Carr check downs to receivers short of the 1st down line that were head shaking during the 3 and out portion of the game. Sometimes it feels like CJ is Kurt Cousins and just checks down to the safe play without much hope of getting a first down.

I don't hate a throw short of the chains if there's a RAC opportunity. CJ's checking down to guys coming back for the ball.

When we attacked vertically - we looked great
When we "attacked" on 4yd routes - we were doomed

There was at least one spot on the broadcast where Freeman clearly sent the defensive play in.

I sat right behind the bench. He had a paper in his hand all game and looked to be calling plays.

I'm rewatching it this morning with my coffee like the other poster suggested...

2nd Quarter, 10:25 left on the clock and ND is on defense. Ash clearly has the play sheet and calls something in on the headset.

All the coaches then have a hand signal to the defense where they were touching the back of their own hands. This includes CMF doing it but it was all of the assistants around too.
