Cristobal said he had possession and both feet down. I agree, for a split second that happened and then he bobbled it twice before Talich knocked it out. He never made that football move with possession. Even if Talich didn't knock it out he was bobbling the ball when he went out of bounds.
Yeah I feel like I’m losing my mind - you can literally see the ball not full in control

I really don't give a rip what commentators or other fanbases have to say. We beat the #1 ranked team last night and control our destiny from here. Win out and we are in the playoffs with as good a chance to win the natty as anyone (maybe a better chance).
Yep, just fodder on message boards. What we do. lol. But ultimately means zip, zero. Win all the games straight a Natty!!☘️

“Must complete the process of the catch” has been a part of football lexicon for 30 years now. I have zero interest in even entertaining this kind of bullshit.

The guy knew he didn't catch it. The TV referee immediately says thats not a catch. Refs on the field ruled it incomplete.

But we should trust Mario Cristobal that it was indeed a catch lol

Nice win last night but we all know the committee will spin it somehow and say it shouldn’t mean as much because Toney was out. Some questions and concerns.
1. I tweeted was this Ash or Freeman calling plays and Bowens dad liked the tweet. I’m guessing Freeman had a say this week.
2. Did Bettis get in the game at all? I get Gilbert played great but once again Bettis goes off last week gets zero targets this week?
3. OL has givin up 2 sacks all year which is a crazy stat.
4. 1 Turnover for Carr all year which is great.
5. Graham looked great last night is this his breakout game?
6. Don’t want to look ahead but with Mckinney and Moore gone after this year we are gonna be in a world of hurt at corner. I’m guessing Zanders will start and Gray at nickel if he comes back. I think you need to bring in a corner transfer for depth and then hope Pauncey and Adam’s are regulars and ready to play. I don’t see a Moore walking through the door in the coming in Freshman class
Classic you. Couldn’t get through even a post game post w out looking to/talking about next year.

Great win Irish. Take care of business the rest of the way and get/stay healthy. No more need to “impress” the committee. You guys are in with a first round bye. Start strong the first half every game and get the ones out as soon as you can. Don’t need to have a couple of season changing injuries if you’re up by 20 in a game.
Ya I don't see the committee letting us have a 1st round bye. We'll probably move up to around #6 or 7 in the updated CFP ranking with no big games left. Even if teams above us lose they'll just bump a different SEC team in front of us. And if they can't find a SEC team to put ahead of us they'll figure out some ridiculous way to screw us

Do yourselves a favor and watch the Cristobal presser if you want a good laugh. He opened by putting the refs on blast then tried to walk it back and give ND credit and say he needs to be "professional." Then one of their beat writers asked "these were ACC officials...does that make it worse?"

So are you implying that there should have been favor handed to Miami because of their conference affiliation? What a weird fucking question.

Anyway, enjoying the Hurricane tears. That was absolutely incomplete

There was also a big gain by Miami when Shuler was picked - literally hit by another receiver and knocked down. Blackledge said he "fell down" but that was clearly not the case. Don't see enough discussion about that play going against ND
I remember being annoyed at Blackledge about that, but it was a legal play. They ran the same play that we did with Faison, with Barkate catching the ball behind the line of scrimmage so the WR can block downfield.

This just popped up in my Apple News feed. SBNation fucking clown show. This is the headline.

Miami’s game-tying touchdown denied by refs in controversial call during loss to Notre Dame.

I have a feeling the committee will drop Miami to 4-5 and put us at 7-8. This way if Miami would somehow lose the ACC CCG they could justify keeping them in or dropping them out completely so the ACC only gets 1 team in? I really hope the committee puts us in that 7-8 range. I want that narrative to continue to piss off the team and for them to use that.

If that makes sense haha. Still a little hungover.

Your best bet is that Ga and Bama win out and Ga beats Bama in the SECCG. The crazy thing here is the SEC tiebreaker rules. Bama, Tenn, and Texas can all finish 7-2 in conference but Bama would go to the SECCG ahead of Tenn even though they lost to the Vols because Bama’s cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents would be higher than the Vols. Texas has the lowest percentage of the three so they would be out.

Given all that and if games play out out as expected (big if) then a Ga win over Bama I think gets the Irish a bye week.

Just control what you can control and hope for the best. The committee will be hard pressed to keep an 11-1 Irish from a bye week if everything plays out right ( and SMU needs to keep winning till the Irish beats them)..

Anyone else listening to the Rudy soundtrack this morning?!

Also, I think there's going to be fierce outcry from many corners of college football if they rank Miami ahead of us after moving us behind them because of the H2H result last year.

People hate us, but they might hate the CFB Committee corruption even more.

And there was 3:36 left on the clock. So, even IF that’s a TD AND they get a 2pt conversion. We’d have plenty of time with the full playbook needing only a FG. Much different situation than BYU where they ended the game on a controversial call. Miami is acting like this lost them the game.

Game balls to Guerby and Will Black. They were awesome against the pass rush last night, overall. The only references to Lightfoot all night were to the havoc he’d wreaked in prior games. IOL wasn’t nearly has good and had some significant gaffes, but the unit, overall, was very solid.

Best in game atmosphere for a ND game i can remember. Better than IU playoff imo. Place was absolutely juiced and loud. sucks NBC does such an awful job pumping in crowd noise.
Could’ve stopped at NBC does such an awful job. They just suck all around.
