Go get some really good fish tacos tomorrow. Just live it up. You watched a really good ballgame. Shit, we came back!

We aren’t losing to TA&M in two weeks.
Gotta leave at 8 to drive my buddy back to Tampa to catch his flight home, so no Miami fish tacos in my future. Maybe a mcmuffin

Every captain on this team outta be ashamed of themselves and be stripped of their captaincy.

You had 6 captains. SIX.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, played like turbo ass.

Wagner was getting whooped off the edge.

Pauling? Hello, Pauling? Did he even fucking play?

Donovan Hinish was a great ragdoll today! His brother should be sooooo proud!

Drayk Bowen got his ass beat. Shameful.

Adon Shuler. Have you returned from LALA LAND YET!?

Billy Schrauth, more like Billy STRASH!!!!

I’m legitimately stumped if this is sarcasm or not. Exactly 50/50.

People are going to get pissed at me and that's fine.

But I think a lot of this comes down to - Miami looked pretty damn good. Will they stay this good or just played out of their butts some? Who knows.

But tonight, Miami's trenches may just have been better than NDs. And some of the "we sucks" are a bit overreaction.
I don't think they looked very good. The game reminded me of the first Oregon/OSU game last year, where basically all the bounces went Oregon's way.

Competent offensive playcalling and we likely win by 4 or 7 or something.

I have a hard time understanding why we aren't ever aggressive on offense. I understand we have a young qb but we also have two of the best backs in the nation to go along with above average wrs. Hand the ball off and push the ball downfield with the pass, be the aggressor early and make the defense adjust. Instead we keep the training wheels on for two long and then we play catch up late. Too many screen passes and not enough crossovers or verts, hell I would take a nice post route for Greathouse and let him go and make a play.

So many issues that have been mentioned thoughout this thread but I can't wrap my head around playing scared on offense.

The YPC average is thrown off by the big run from Price. He was 5 carries for 15 yards outside of that and Love was 10 for 33. I realize they all count, but it's not like the line was getting push with any consistency.

I feel like that's kind of always the case and just proves they need more carries. They're both big play backs, and they need more opportunities

Is it wrong for me to be weirdly happy for Lee Corso? Dude was a constant for 30 years of my life.

Now? We fucking go.
I feel the same way, let Lee have his day. With the twelve team playoff one close lose on the road doesn't mean too much. Use it to learn and for motivation and time to rattle off 15 wins or whatever it is to win the whole thing

And realizing the level of competition and not trying to be hyperbolic but they have not run well since…the first play against IU? Leonard bailed us out a lot last year.

At least lax made some money this weekend
Yeah ironically I wasn't able to bet the South Carolina game because I live in Virginia and they were playing Virginia Tech. And the Ohio State + Tennessee games kicked off before I could add those to the parlay. So it was only 3 legs and a small bet but I made 27x my money.

Imagine if they got a few more carries? Odds are another big one was going to happen.
Maybe, but Price was benched for the fumble at the goal line that CJ pounced on. We were just as close to disaster there. Price is feast or famine, and I think they got the feast out of him, to be honest. I do think Love needed more carries, and the presser doesn't give me a lot of confidence that Denbrock was coaching the game in front of him instead of the the one he wished they were in.

Mike Denbrock should send Jayden Daniels a nice edible arrangement. Made his clown show offense look like it worked long enough for Mikey to get a nice pay day.

He can hold this L.
Holy shit! A greater truth has never been spoken. Even our OC two years ago (I’ve made a point of forgetting him) doesn’t waste Love and Price like Denbrock did. What a colossal dipshit and overpaid hack. He doesn’t play D but he couldn’t have called a more awful game. Literally needs to apologize to the whole team. That second and two bubble screen BS was about as stupid as it gets. Never gave Love or Price an opportunity to eat. The last series was a total shit show. Everything seemed to take forever or at least way too long to develop.

Side note that we didn’t have that many tight end drops in all of last season. We have to be able to do better than Rairdon! Anyone!

The lack of downfield passing was bad. Hope Carr will trust he receivers like he did with Fields on that one grab.

Where was our captain Pauling? Punting was decent for a change. Not giving Faison a shot with a jet sweep even once is criminal especially given some of Denrbrok brain dead play calling. Felt like the Lenn State game where we played from behind til we tied it up at 24 and they We get the int and the FG. Tonight the best team won and we got outcoached like a MF. Mostly our OC sucked donkey balls.

I'm going to make a glass half full analysis:

A lot of what we saw is that the analysis of Miami's strengths were as advertised. Their Oline was really good, they had some dudes on their defensive line, Carson Beck looked poised and accurate, and they had some good playmakers that came up big in moments. Their defense looked well coached unlike last year.

Our first time starting QB played well considering it was against a good opponent on the road behind an offensive line that was getting beat. It was far from a perfect game but it wasn't necesarily reasonable to expect that. The moment didn't look too big for him.

We played a less than clean game against a quality opponent, with a -2 turnover margin on the road, but we never collapsed and lost by a field goal. Obivously there's work to do but the sky isn't falling.

ND hasn’t signed a ton of highly rated WR since late in the BK era & early MF era (thank God it’s improving) but they’d usually get at least one that comes in w/ a ton of hype & high ratings. Then we’re told to be patient that while they possess the measurables of an elite WR they need time to learn the system, how to run proper routes, etc. On the flip side, we play a team every season that has come true frosh who comes in game one & lights it up like seasoned veteran. Tonight it was Malachi Toney. Ironically, we’ll be facing another in the next game who was a freshman phenom at NCST…KC Concepcion.

Probably the closest I'll ever come to putting someone on Ignore just to avoid the secondhand embarrassment

But I mean you sort of get it, right? Dude had taken four (4) total snaps in his career which were handoffs in a 60 point win over Purdue. Yeah maybe thirteen screens were a bit much, but you’ve got to massage things a bit with a brand new fucking 20 year old QB. The training wheels were off in 2H and CJ shined.
Denbrock sucked and was on par with how horrible rairdon was dropping 4-5 easy balls. The shitty OC that left for Troy couldn’t call a worse game. Denbrock owes the team an apology. Rudolph ain’t got nuthin to brag about. Oh yeah nice job Jagusah for jerking off during the offseason.

Defense played better in the second half but overall I wasn't very impressed. The seem to be lacking leadership and aren't nearly as aggressive as in previous years. Too many team times players were waiting for things to come to them and making a play. Felt like all the big names were way too quiet. KVA was the one who stood out the most during a live watch. He needs to be on the field more. In general I think we rotate too much on defense. I get the weather and conditioning play into that. But overall I wasn't very impressed with our depth. We need players to step up as playmakers. Watts really fulfilled that role well and a combination of people need to step up to recreate some of what we lost with him.

Carr and the skill players overall impressed me. I don't believe Denbrock did them any favors by setting them up for success. I liked the initial drive and how he put the ball in Carr's hands, but he failed to build off of that and open up the playbook. We need some kind of vertical passing game or safeties are going to start creeping up and it's going to making running even more difficult. That's partly why our running game has been the way it has for the last few years. Too often opposing safeties are sitting at 12 yards and flat footed because they don't respect our passing game. CJ has the tools to do it. It's going to be on Denbrock to start calling those plays and then for the players to execute.

The OL was less than stellar. They looked out of shape and I felt like overall they weren't very prepared as a unit. Good thing they have a bye week to watch film and figure it out.

While it wasn't the outcome we would've liked, I think there's plenty of positives to take away from this moving forward. I believe we have a QB that's only going to get better as the year progresses, I can't remember the last time we had as much at skill positions. I have faith that the oline will figure it out. We have a great coach and there's no reason to believe they won't gel as the season goes on. I'm primarily concerned with the defense for the season. I wasn't impressed with Ash today. It was a combo of what he called and his the unit played. Far too much zone and because of that it seemed like the unit played very passive overall. I was very disappointed with most on the dline. Traore flashed and so did Dawson buy overall wasn't very impressed with the rest initially. Bowen disappointed and KVA needs to never leave the field. He's special. Hobbs was terrible. I don't think any of us have truly appreciated how good we've been at nickel recently. Devonta Smith looked good, not great. I was hoping to see more out of Adon he was just ok.

I don't feel like either coordinator did well today. I don't think either played to the teams strengths. The positive is we were much better in the second half and showed improvement in certain areas.

Denbrook outsmarted himself.
Just line up and pound the rock. We have 5 tailbacks to rotate in. Run off tackle and let our depth win the game.
Word! If they want to go vanilla then hand off the damn ball to love or price. It’s not like we weren’t getting some yards. Denbrock is a jerk for doing such a shitty job.
