This could be dumbest statement I have ever read. Lol.

Lol, until I read this one.

I think you are so ignorant of Gods grace and Christianity that you have no clue how to wrap your head around hating sin but loving the sinner. But hey, the scorecard… lol. 🤨

Right I'm the ignorant one, gotcha! LOL

The idea you think I'm the ignorant one....I'm speechless. Hopefully you'll learn more about Christianity so you don't sound like this.

I would love to rehash the whole conversation. Sixstar and I laid it out pretty well. Ignorance is not knowing because you just don’t know… I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Being dumb is the inability to know. I think we have arrived. I truly believe God will take up the retarded. You have a chance.

Yes, were it not for football, the school would cease to exist, just like dozens of Catholic schools that have closed over the years.

People of all faiths and no faiths at all root for Notre Dame football. Do you find it odd that Blazer, a Protestant, or Ryan Harris, a Muslim, root for ND? Should Blazer root for Liberty instead?

Unlike most on here, I have deep connections to the University including the fact that my maternal grandfather played for Rockne. I will continue to root for Notre Dame football regardless of what you think. And for the love of Zeus, it’s COULDN’T CARE LESS!
Hahaha. Which Catholic colleges have closed? Don't compare Notre Dame to small, struggling Catholic high schools and parishes who are merging. You're entirely wrong in saying ND would close if it weren't for football. It's an elite academic school and most of the kids who attend are there for the education and pay a nice penny for it.

Blazer and Ryan Harris are both men of faith, so no I don't find that surprising. It's your position to have and I don't care, but it is odd.

Second, Notre Dame still exists because of the US Naval Academy sending cadets to ND during WWII and that had nothing to do with athletics.
Hey dumb fuck, why do you think we play Navy every year in football?
Which Catholic colleges have closed?
Quite a few.

Since just 2024 here is a list of those that are closed or will be closing:
Fontbonne, Sienna Heights, Notre Dame College, St. Andrews University, Cabrini University(campus was acquired by Villanova), Cardinal Stritch, Holy Names University, Presentation College.

From 2016-2024, 21 Catholic Colleges announced their closure or merger with another institution.

As usual, you have zero idea of what the fuck you are talking about.

Great line from The Free Press today TGIF: The Real Motive Is Not What It Seems

"I think the fear is that if the killer is a lefty, it would justify some kind of crackdown on normal progressives, so we all must lie. But no crackdown is justified, regardless of the kind of porn video game this kid played or who his roommate was! And it’s not a reporter’s job to lie! If a centrist lesbian went on a shooting spree, I would argue 1) that’s bad and she should be in gay jail, and 2) I have nothing to do with her and should not suffer tribal retribution. But, you see, the modern reporter does believe in tribal retribution. And so the modern reporter must lie about the killer."

Without football, I believe ND would have ended up as a similar institution to valpo
I'd split the difference between Villanova and Boston College. ND would have basically become Chicago's Catholic university(even more so than it was/is). We would have had football but likely would be BC/Purdue level and I could see leaning into basketball the way Nova did.

I think you could put Valpo, Nova, BC, and Purdue(even though it's a large public) into a shaker..mix them up...and get random combinations of academic/athletic/cultural mixtures that you could make reasonable cases for.

They have a football team?
Yes.

I think the point of the conversation is what is Notre Dame as a University with Notre Dame Football (capital 'F") being Notre Dame football (small "f").

It would be almost entirely impossible for a university to not have a football program at some point. So Notre Dame was "always" going to have football. The spirit of the question is directly related to Notre Dame Football not being the brand it is today...or was...early-ish in the University's history. (Delete Jesse Harper and Knute Rockne from history)

Trump's NVE replaced Biden's AGAAVE which labeled critics of COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates as potential “Domestic Violent Extremists” (DVEs) under the AGAAVE category. This included individuals expressing concerns about vaccine safety, loss of civil liberties, or suspicions of coordinated government agendas, even if their opposition was non-violent and protected under the First Amendment.

I warned folks on this board about that type of government overreach back during COVID times and was openly mocked here by toronto and crew. I was told that Government targeting unvaxxed was justified because we were selfish and endangering others. Many people here and across the US celebrated when unvaxxed were denied access to healthcare or lost jobs. many advocated for COVID skeptics to lose custody of their children.

I warned that by taking this stance then, the American public was setting the precedent for the government to attack other groups in the future. People didn't care because they weren't the ones being targeted.

The pendulum swings. Now, apparently, the FBI is labeling an entire trans community as a danger to others because they are selfish. Same song, different dance. This remains overreach, but now it's hitting a different community. Keep this up, and it will eventually hit a people group that every poster here belongs to. This was inevitable. And this was started and fueled by the left.

just remember, if you are going to complain about NVE, you must remain consistent with your previous views on societal segregation.

I warned folks on this board about that type of government overreach back during COVID times and was openly mocked here by toronto and crew.

I warned that by taking this stance then, the American public was setting the precedent for the government to attack other groups in the future. People didn't care because they weren't the ones being targeted.

  • 48% of Democrats were in support of the criminal punishment of vaccine critics, whether the criticism appeared on television, radio, or even on social media.
  • 45% of Democrats were in favor of the government forcing people who refuse the vaccine to live in designated facilities or locations.
  • 29% of Democrats reportedly say they would be in support of parents who are against getting vaccinated losing custody of their children.
  • Almost half of Democrats think state and federal governments should be allowed to either fine or imprison those who publicly question COVID-19 vaccine efficacy.
Unvaxxed played the FAF card, and they found out.

The only reason you don't mind the unvax getting targeted is because you weren't targeted. What if the government prevented overweight people from participating in society because they choose and unhealthy lifestyle that increases pressure on the healthcare system? Is it still okay?

the global authoritarian response, the erosion of freedom, the segregation of society, and the harms done to child development.
The US government's response to COVID killed my patriotism.

just so toronto doesn't feel singled out, armyirish47 also showed tremendous sympathy:

But don't worry trans community. This too shall pass, and when it does, you shouldn't complain about it, because it will be over. According to toronto, as long as you eventually recover your rights, it won't matter if you temporarily lost your job or your right to participate in society.

Anyways - none of this matters anymore because any sort of restrictions are gone and everyone can enjoy a trip to Dollar General.

Oh good god. Let's compare a pandemic response by both parties/administrations to a handful of trans people who commit mass shootings at a much lower rate than their percentage of the overall population.

Rough estimate from ChatGPT for job losses from 2021-2025 is tens of thousands.

So let's say 100k people so that we can use the highest estimate. If those people were wrongfully terminated they can file lawsuits.

Rough estimate of trans people is ~2.8M.

2.8M people labeled as violent extremists. Yeah I'm sure they'll be fine!

Antivaxx community is making measels great again, and the psychos in Florida are doing a bang up job removing vaccine requirements from schools, not just COVID, every vaccine. Well done! I'm sure everyone is highly educated on the risk profiles of vaccines and will certainly make sure they are following medical advice and not just some online grifter!

I'll wait for trans people to commit even the same proportionate amount of death before even entertaining your argument. Of course, this is all tap dancing around what the real issue is - guns. But Republican's only focus on the gender of the shooter before determining whether it's "thoughts and prayers" or "THE DEVIL! THEY ARE HORRIBLE". YOLO I'm sure dropping vaccine requirements will have a positive impact on society. Higher chance of some fat fuck antivax dying from some random preventable disease, than having Bishop's secret furry leather daddy shoot them.

Antivaxx community just got the CDC to restrict the MMRV vaccine. They are a danger to the community. It has saved over 70 million lives worldwide since the 50s.

toronto, you are missing the point.

It doesn't matter whether its 100k, 3M, or 10 people. Civil liberties aren’t a math equation. The constitutional principle is the same: the government cannot strip rights based on identity or dissent.

Branding a class of people (COVID-policy dissenters then, trans people now) as security risks because of their opinions or identity violates viewpoint neutrality (First Amendment) and equal protection, unless the group is traditionally linked to violence. To be clear: I do not think that trans people as a whole are violent; the trans population has violent people like many other groups on both sides of the political spectrum, but the trans population is not a terrorist organization. clearly.

Once the state is allowed to brand a whole group, the precedent is set for whoever’s next. Better hope you don't have personal interests that your government randomly chooses to dislike one day.

Further, saying “they can file lawsuits” ignores that civil liberties exist to prevent the harm before it happens. Saying “sue later” is just an admission you’re fine with rights being trampled so long as the victims can fight in court years after the damage is done.

Misinformation.

More accurately:

On September 18, 2025, the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), a panel that advises the CDC on vaccine recommendations, voted 8-3 (with one abstention) to recommend that the combined measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV) vaccine not be given to children under 4 years old. Instead, the panel advised that children in this age group receive separate MMR and varicella (chickenpox) vaccines.

This decision was based on data showing a slightly increased risk of febrile seizures (7-8.5 per 10,000 vaccinations) in children aged 12-23 months after receiving the first dose of the MMRV vaccine compared to separate MMR and varicella shots.

The CDC had already recommended separate vaccines for this age group since 2009, with the MMRV as an option if preferred by parents, and about 85% of children currently receive separate shots.

That's what I've been saying... Someday the oppression of this admin will fall on you...

But, you're missing the point...

1) You're antivax and COVID arguments are not of an equivalent scale - You're looking at abstractly and the Left did this, now the Right is doing this (see, I told you, it would get ugly and some day oppression would come for you).
- I agree with the tenants of what you're saying, but you have to step back and look at it from a much bigger picture - This is not strictly abuse of Federal power for specific groups, this time by the Left, the next by the Right
- They're all wrong and oppressive (I for one was in favor of Vax choice since the RNA ones were not fully vetted IMO, but I think the Federal government thought it was taking the right position in the crackdown, but again it was wrong); I will say, outside the Fed and Healthcare, there were ways to work around this forced Vax policy of corporations and universities, and maybe some healthcare and Fed, and exempt yourself)
- I don't think the Federal govt in COVID times was applying these forced regulations in pursuit of some uber power - They thought it was in the best interest of the country; and Lord knows, both sides make mistakes in these areas (think Japanese internment camps during WWII)

2) Branding the Trans population as NVE is not just an isolated incident taking advantage of the Charlie Rich assassination in an isolated manner.
- Trump and the very large team of Constitutional and Legal experts are targeting groups, laws, institutions (as Bannon was recorded saying today "dismantle the institutions" so that "the Democrats can never steal the vote again like in 2020!") so as to neuter them as ineffective and never allow any other party to win any govt branch elections, ever again and that is their stated goal
- All we need to do is see Project 2025 and listen to guys like Bannon, Kevin Roberts, Russell Vought, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, DJT himself to know what the plan and goals are
- If DJT and his admin have their way, there won't be any future opportunities for any other party like the Democrats to apply Federal regulations that are oppressive; it will be done continually by the Trump admin because there will be no opposition to stop them or entity with the ability to counter this authoritarian regime - Capisce?

That's a little more important degree of abuse of power and oppression. You're acting like this is bullshit Left, Right, and what about-isms.

Fuck that - This is our Democracy and Constitutional Republic going down the drain.

And don't even try and give me "you're being dramatic","you're being emotional," "you have TDS," etc.
Sit back and look and see the current Forest for the Trees...

At this point, DJT and his admin have complete control (Govt, Courts, Media, Universities, ICE/Prisons) and they will be using law fare, insurrection threats, and executive orders to make it so elections never happen again, starting with the mid term elections - See exhibit A (EO, March 25, 2025: PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE INTEGRITY OF AMERICAN ELECTIONS) and B (It's already starting: DOJ Sues Maine, Oregon in Aggressive Move to Seize State Voter Data)

¡Hasta la vista American Democracy!
