And here’s where we finally share a snarky (sort of) comment made earlier during camp by Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, regarding the fact that Leinart won the Heisman over Peterson in 2004.

“I look at that [Heisman] trophy now and knowing that Matt Leinart has it, with how his career went, I would rather him have it,” Peterson said. ”At least he has something positive to look back on and say, ‘I won the Heisman.’”

Speaking of USC. I was watching the Hawaii game and they were saying how a QB competition was never really a problem since Carson Palmer. Then they showed a graphic of all the QB's since then.

I remember when I saw the above cover of an ESPN magazine. In the article Leinart basically went around to all of the NFL owners that passed on him in the draft and asked, "Why did you pass on me? You guys are gonna feel pretty dumb in the future." What a tool. His career sure panned out like just about every other USC QB.

My Matt Leinart story:

I went to Cardinals training camp one year (pre-SB team), and as you could imagine, there were only a few hundred people there. It was so sparse, you could pretty much hear every player's voice along with the fans voices because it was indoors.

To make a long story short, Leinart was lustily booed by about a dozen people every time he took snaps with the first team, and Warner showered with cheers by the same guys when it was his turn.

Leinart stood there pouting every time Warner stepped in, and said "F--k these people, f--king losers, they should go home." It was easily heard by the fans, and one yelled, "NO! Maybe YOU should go home!" Cracked me up.

After practice, Leinart made a beeline for the showers, while Warner hung around for about an hour signing autographs, holding babies, basically being the epitome of class and a guy you wanna root for. AZ (and many other) fans loved Warner as a person, not just a player. Leinart never seemed to understand that. Idiot......

Grown man bagging groceries gets a shot and takes full advantage and stays humble when he becomes a star.
Privileged kid with a ton of talent is more interested in partying and squanders his opportunity... and he's an asshat.
