Seat could be getting warm. A shame we aren't putting something better out there for him because he seems like a great dude.

I am still in on Freeman but any free pass he was gonna get for this year for an 8-4 type year is obviously gone.

I don't follow recruiting or pay much attention in the off-season, I just watch the games. It feels an awful lot like we have exactly one good player.

Lots of great recruiters that aren’t great head coaches. This was the risk. Definitely give him a full season, but I hope Swarbrick has a short list ready. Both Rees and Freeman should be on notice. 3 games, 3 losses, 9 bad quarters.

I like Freeman as a person, but why do I have the feeling this is going to be Bob Davie part 2. Looks the part but winning is all that matters.

Ultimately what we were sold on is continuity. Today isn’t a case of ND beating themselves like past upsets. Marshall has been the better team and absolutely dominating ND. Uninspired playcalling and terrible offense from the top down. Today is an embarrassing day for ND.

I am not out on Marcus yet, but today is an inexcusable failure that should not be part of his learning curve.
Freeman is a horrible head coach. Worst hire since Faust

Man, we REALLY won't ever hire a coordinator with no HC experience again if Freeman turns out to be a bust. I hope that's not the case, I hope Freeman rights the ship.

He needs total control. Fire Rees, get control and see what happens. If he fails, he fails. I like him a lit, but I believe he was saddled with Rees.
It’s mind boggling that Tommy Rees was a prerequisite for hiring a DC with no HC experience. Freeman should have been paired with an experienced former HC OC that could control that whole side of the ball.

Why? If Freeman doesn't work and It never has worked. Why

Total Control? Freeman has no idea what he is doing. Every time the camera focused on him, he had the look of person who is way in over his head. The problem with the team is that we don't have a head coach. We have a person role playing as a head coach. He has delegated everything to his coordinators not as a choice but out of necessity. He doesn't have a well of knowledge to share...what could he possibly offer Rees or Golden? This team is desperately looking for true leadership...not the rah rah superficial BS that gullible people fall for.

I want him to fail with his guy. We can't fire a coach this quick. Give him an experienced OC and make him manage it.

I genuinely don't believe this is on Freeman. He inherited the problems that brought us to 0-2, including Rees. He needs to be given a chance to bring in his people and a couple recruiting classes minimum. The problem is does he have the authority to make the appropriate changes?

Not excusing Freeman entirely, but are we 2-0 with a different OC? Even a brand new scheme installed over the last spring would be be better than what we have.
1-1 for sure, 2-0 within reach. Rees is the anchor around the whole teams neck.
