Man the NFL is becoming more and more like first tier European soccer, don't win immediately your fired.

I'm not a Lovie supported by any means, but If you improved in your second year I think that shows progress and that should at least guarantee you the 3rd year I believe all (most) coaches deserve.

Totally agree..it's out of hand and has been for awhile. So many dumb owners who know little to nothing about football grasping at straws and listening to idiots.

I have never liked Lovie as a coach but this move makes Tampa bay look dumb.

Ah yes, the owner of one corporation is a racist because he fired a black employee and the owners of two other corporations didn't fire a white employee.

Oh wait, that makes no fucking sense.

I do like Lovie, however, maybe the Bucs have a big name lined up. I really thought he would be here for quite some time.

I've read that the Bucs want to promote their O coordinator for continuity

My Jags are 12-36 under Gus Bradley, and he gets a 4th year. :(

If this is true, then Lovie must of had a big falling out with the owner.. If you are willing to keep the system, why not the coach?

The reasoning I've seen is that the O coordinator was targeted by Miami and other teams as a head coach candidate. Adding to that, Lovie is a defensive minded coach whose defense has been poor his two seasons in Tampa.

Sounds like the O-Coordinator is largely credited with Winston's progress, which is giving him a leg up on another head coaching job. This is a move to keep him around in order to develop the franchise QB.

Really unfortunate for Lovie. He's a very good defensive coach and his players love him. With a good O-Coordinator and QB, his teams would always have a really good shot to win a ton of games.
