I came back from Pat's Cheesesteaks in South Philly about 45 mins ago. I usually go to Jim's but my buddy was adamant that we go to Pat's so I concurred because I hadnt been there in a while. It was glorious. Geno's is right across the street but I think they are weak-its all personal preference and there are more than those 2 to get a good cheese steak . Pat's line is typically longer and those who dont feel like waiting usually hop in Geno's line.
Anyway, the cheesesteak was glorious- Extra Whiz without.
So in my area, Philly is kown for Cheesesteaks (Pat's, Jim's, Geno's etc), Hot Roast Pork (John's), and Pretzels (Philly Soft Pretzel Factory and the corner guys) and even Camden and surrounding towns are known for something-- Panzarotti's.
What foods in your cities/area are they best known for? That way if any of us ever roll through your area, we know where to stop...
