Okay but hear me out.

Would Cignetti leave IU for LSU when they can BK?

I would think that would be a job that would make him listen.

Are you asking me? I’ll answer.

Why would he? LSU/SEC isn’t what it used to be prior to NIL. Instead of paying players under the table like Nick Saban and the like, it’s all now fair game.

IU has very deep pockets (as does ND) and the SEC for the most part can’t compete with that. It’s a benefit of actually graduating scholars instead of PE teachers.

It wasn’t specific to you—but I totally get your rationale.

But IU is always going to be a basketball school. Memorial Stadium seats like 59,000 people. They’re showing out last year and this year, but if IU is 5-2 or 5-3 on an off year will they show up for a 7:30 kick against Nebraska like LSU/A&M?

Cig has been a builder and climber. And who knows, maybe he feels like IU is his pinnacle. I just don’t get that vibe from him.

There is an expansion coming to their stadium and when was the last time IU was truly competitive in basketball. Heck I could see the irish surpassing them in basketball if Shrews gets this team to gel, to clarify not historically surpass them but moving forward. From what I’m hearing from connected IU folks they are going to do everything they can to keep him and pump up the football program. Crazy times in Bloomington.

If the ND basketball team had a 2 year run of high level success 10 years ago or so would that have made ND any less of a football school?

(BTW, you misspelled "whiny" in your little insult title there under your username. If you're gonna talk shit maybe govern yourself a little better, okay buddy?)

Talent is there. Clemson 2015-2019 vibes. Dont need to look good when you are much better than your competition
It's a totally ridiculous question to even ask. OSU can eat my ass but they're impressive. They have two WRs that would take the top 2 WR roster spots on most NFL teams and the best defensive player in the country.

They're loaded with talent and just won a national championship. What are we even talking about

But, Wild Bill, Cig just beat the UCLA coached by Neuheisel Tim Skipper by 50.

Talent is here too. Both ND and IU have better QBs than OSU. ND has the two best running backs In the land.

Mendoza and Carr will both be Heisman winners

I went to IU but was an ND fan long before that. If they were to play in the title game, I would be for ND

I'm just enjoying both teams having success.
I'm not sure what I'd do with respect to an ND-MSU championship game. Probably just observe and be happy for the winner. Fortunately, I believe that crisis may be averted for now.

I always thought the day ND and UC played, I’d be in a win-win situation.

Instead, my two favorite teams squaring off was possibly the most miserable sports-watching experience I’ve ever had.

Started the game pissed off at ND for not playing well.

Went through the majority of the 2nd half pissed that UC was trying to blow the game.

Ended the game pissed off at ND for not mounting the comeback, and because UC fans were acting like jabronis on social media while celebrating the win.

It was a bad day.

For the record, in non-NCG situations, I've always rooted for ND over MSU. Partly due to being pro-ND from birth, but also they were September games, and ND tended to be ranked higher. I never wanted to see a great season ruined by an upset. However, if two great seasons were assured, it might be different.

IU has a cakewalk the rest of the way into the Big10 championship, their real test will be vs Ohio St.

IDK, I still think that P$U "could" be a sleeper for an upset. They'll get drubbed at O$U but being at home the next week w/ the Loosiers thinking that this will be a cakewalk. Agree with me or not, but P$U does have some talent. They weren't ranked in the top 10 early just by happenstance. Trying to get adjusted/acclimated to a new DC can be an issue (hello Ash). Maybe it starts clicking. As much as most online (me included) hates P$U, I'll be rooting for them in 2 weeks (BTW, I dislike IU as well, football and especially basketball).

IU will boat race everyone and play OSU in the B1G title game. PSU has mailed in the season.

Fucked a lot of girls at IU but they didn’t recruit me. Purdue did (our 2nd baseman signed with PU and started CF as a Frosh) but I IU never offered either of us.
