They do nothing elite. Allar is JAG. Their defense is nice but significantly hampered by losing Carter. They played 2 real games this season and lost both. Their 3 toughest game (USC) they also should have lost.

I disagree. Maybe on the pass rush, but that’s it. And their dude on the DL is hurt.

They have an elite TE and probably the best pair of DEs in CFB. Allar is better than Stockton, Maiava or Weigman. Their defense is better than USC and A&M, not Georgia. Carter is going to play. We also could also lost to USC.

I don’t think people should at all underestimate PSU. ND has a coaching edge but they have as many dudes in a lot of the same positions as we do talent wise. If you look on paper and say ND is way more talented, you’re 100% lying to yourself.

I agree with you about the quarterback but they don't have receivers. They have Warren and the backs and that's it

I agree with a lot you say but we have dudes too. Play a clean game and we win. Turnovers and SP flaws will be a problem

Miava played out of his mind against us and connected on every 50/50 ball he threw. Carter may give it a go but he won’t be close to 100% and their defense looked much worse without him. Our game with USC was nowhere near as close as theirs. USC had them beat 6 different ways and blew it.

Agreed. Definitely side with ND but going I going into the game like we’re playing IU, USC, or A&M or weaker would be incredibly foolish

How much better is Carter than Mikel Williams or Nic Scourton?
They seem to be the first three pass rushers on draft boards, with Carter first, but they look to be right behind him. Neither Williams nor Scourton were really game-changers against us.

Penn State might be the first team we have played that is as good as us plus a good team/culture. That’s all I am “worried about”.
I don’t think they’re better than UGA. Can’t speak to their culture, but it’s kind of hard to match the zone MF has this team in.

Better pass rusher and/or playmaker imo. He's not great at defending inside run so I would run over the top of him all night.

Every draft is different but most have Carter top 5. He's 3 here, Scourton and Williams 11 and 13. The other Georgia LB #31.

Yeah. Makes sense. It’s also not like we did a lot of drop back passing against either A&M or Georgia. Hopefully we don’t have to against Penn State either. Run at him, don’t let him run at Leonard.

Well, I agree the Irish was constantly running up the middle the first three qtrs without much progress... But - in the 4th qtr, RL and JL hit the corners with success.

Denbrock probably saw that and made the adjustments in the 4th and it ran the clock out.
They mentioned that ND’s blocking assignments were not the man lined up in front of them and should adjust to that. I noticed in the fourth they were blocking head on which is why they we getting around 4 yards per carry. TV showed Georgia was gassed. Denbrock had to notice it because he started going outside as well. On RL’s run the defender had position but RL out ran him to the edge. Our big boys wore them out.

I agree with what you have said here and think it is going to be a tough game. I have watched most of their games since my best friend is a PSU grad so we always try to watch as many ND and PSU games together as we can. A big key to their late season success is just the confidence I saw Allar playing with. I told my buddy when I saw the emotion and command he played with during their comeback against USC that you could really see him maturing. Warren is a beast but they do not have the explosiveness at WR from at least what I have seen. Of course Love and Price are incredible but when talking about the next best running back duo in the country Singleton and Allen are the next two that come to mind. I do believe we can get pressure on Allar though and have not seen him really deal with pressure in his face at all so far in the playoffs.

On defense Carter is a stud and they have size on the outside to create problems with tipping passes. Their linebackers are very very solid but I really have not seen them being disruptive. They also can be very prone to poor tackling at times while going for the play station power hit instead of just wrapping up. Secondary is solid but relies a lot on carter/team getting pressure up front.

At the end of the day it is going to be a hard fought matchup but we could not ask for anything more than to have a winnable game in the semis!

I don't think that this is the layup that a lot of people here are saying. Penn State is strong on the LOS, and Warren is an elite weapon. Penn State can run the ball, and IMO, if they commit to it, they can win this game. If they put it in Nuke LaLouche.....er......Drew Allar's hands, that will be a problem for them. This has a rock fight written all over it, and if it's close, I think this is where Notre Dame has the edge - on the sidelines. James Franklin is just waiting to James Franklin his team - and this is the first team that they have faced in the playoff that isn't a pushover. But, it will be a close slugfest - ND needs to protect the football and make Penn State earn everything they get.

Their two edge guys and the safety #1 are good on defense.

Al Golden has done a great job of making opponents one dimensional. PSU has two good RB, but ND has stuffed the run more often than not this year and that would put the game in Allar's hands.

As far as pass defense, PSU isn't USC. They don't have the WR to beat ND on the deep sideline routes, which is something ND has had an issue with this year.

It won't be easy. Nothing ever is. Regardless of the score, it should be a physical battle, but I like ND to come out on top. They ain't SMU or Boise State. Simply put.

Everyone talked about how we were more physical than Georgia. We were also faster getting to edges on both sides of the ball. Like you said, I think we could have run more on the edges. Either way, we were faster and more physical than the SEC champs. Life is good.
Too many media dudes are focusing on Notre Dame being more physical than UGA. It’s true, but ND was also faster. Imagine making this statement like 5 years ago. Most of us thought it would never happen.

Thank you. At the end of the day, I see our biggest challenge is getting back up after a very emotional GA game. If we can flip that switch, then we’ll be good.

I was worried about the emotional letdown also at first, but it's the playoffs. Each game is bigger than the last and they'll be ready.

One thing that makes me feel better is Freeman’s mentor is Tressel who as a master of navigating the playoffs with YSU. I’m sure he is leaning on him for some advice. Tressel planned his whole regular season to advance week tot week in the playoffs in 1aa.

MF / Denbrock / Golden will have the boys ready... Execution will be the tell-tale.. and we shouldn't be worried about that

Notre Dame never trailed in that game. It was tied at half 14-14 and again 21-21.

Not buying ND could have lost to SC. Never thought it was the reality in real time and even now looking back on how that game unfolded. In that game there was never a point where a rational viewer that understands football slightly above the average person would have thought that ND was out of control of that game at any point.

SC and Purdue were the common opponents, and both were on the road for both ND and PSU. ND handled both more handily than PSU did.

The rest you're spot on.

The overall team speed of this ND squad is elite. It's what makes this team special.

Every fan every player every high school commit to that fucking school is a supporter and enabler of raping little boys. The fun thing is i spend a lot of time tweeting that at their fans and players and never once got a frowny face or any flack from elmo on X. Why because truth is always a damn defense to slander and libel. They are all gonna burn in hell for loving up one of the truly most vile sins. I hope we cripple everyone of their players
Shut the fuck up

They made a movie about how hard it was to crack the catholic church cover-up of priests that raped teenage boys.

"But there is one essential element of the scandal that has not gotten the attention it deserves: Most priest abusers are not pedophiles -- adults whose sexual drives are almost exclusively directed toward pre-pubescent boys and girls. Rather, they fall into the category of ephebophiles (from ephebeus, one of the Greek nouns for a post-pubescent youth). Both pedophilia and ephebophilia are criminal, and in the eyes of most religious traditions, immoral."

I’m not worried about a letdown. MF has had them dialed in since NIU. They know UGA wasn’t the goal.

IMO it’s pointless to reference common opponents at this time. PSU has been playing better than earlier in the season as already mentioned.

I see this game being a street fight just like UGA. There were four instances in the UGA game where Love and/or Price were a step away from breaking one, but got tripped at the last second. PSU may not be as lucky. If they bust one we should win.

Edit: as posted above, this will be the first time PSU has faced this much speed on D.

Friends i think we found one. Some one check his phone and cellar. If memory serves I have previously specifically accused you of being a jock sniffer. Now i see it is far worse. Also talking some anti catholic mess on a board full of irish fans is a good way to get kicked square in d nutz.

Go ahead...search away. It wouldn't be hard, my name is on here. You can even come to SLC and we can talk about it if you feel that strongly about it.

You are shitting on an entire fan base for THE EXACT SAME THING . Did you have a close mentor in the church?
