This thread isn't meant to get bashed by people who think tattoos are "trashy." This thread is for people who want to share their Irish tattoos or any other skin art. Please keep your opinions to yourself if they are negative I'll start:

tattoo2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

4 Horsemen across ribcage. Got it 5 years ago.

*Couldn't figure out how to embed pictures. This thread is full of fail. Link is best I can do.

Still my only tattoo, but have been thinking about getting another.

I just have two. The Horsemen (guess that could be 4), and St. Michael on my shoulder blade. They are big, but obviously easy to cover, and 75% of the people that know me have never even seen them.

I've got....

This dude on my right forearm with the words "Forever Irish" underneath

nd24.gif

Want to add a blood tear to him and add the words "American Born, Irish Blood" above and below the existing tat and words

Have the Original Lep on left calf....

Another Lep on my right bicep drinking porter...

My father has a tattoo of St. Michael on his left arm with me and my brothers names underneath it, it's cool to find somebody else with that tattoo. I've been thinking about getting one like it on my arm or getting a lavender cancer ribbon over my heart (like Carlo Calabresse's breast cancer tattoo) with Jimmy Valvano's famous words "Don't ever give up" wrote around it.

I love this idea... Make it happen. :)

That would be very awesome indeed. Very inspiring and symbolic.

Alright, I'll keep my opinion to myself--except that:

1. People that get tats are idiots because you just look like everybody else that has them. How does this express your individuality? Doesn't everybody on the football field or basketball court look the same as you? Who ever really looks to see what your tat says or means? They wouldn't understand it anyway. The only thing they understand is that you kind of look like street trash.

2. Black guys really get ripped off on this. The dark skin and black ink contrast just isn't there. And it's about 99% proof they grew up in a home without a father.

3. Imus was right. Those black girls with the tats really do look like street whores. And white girls that have tats, you immediately think they're sluts and wonder if you can get some of it.

4. There is a Biblical exhortation not to take any markings on your body like that.

5. The older you get the worse your tat looks. Nobody ever paid any attention to it in the first place. It does NOT express your individuality.

Other than that, I'll keep my opinions to myself. Your ND tat looks really cool... BTW, what is it?

Hey Dickface, are you that starved for attention that you feel the need to comment where no one asked for your input?

I've got the leprechaun on the inside of my bicep, the word teaghlach (Irish word for family) on my ribs from waist line to armpit, and a Celtic cross with a shamrock on my back from collar to lower back. I'd post pics but have no idea how to!

Thank you. I'd show you all my tats, except, well, I don't have any.

How about the dumbest reasons people get tats?

I read an article a few years ago about the reason RB Cedric Benson got "flames" tattoed all over his arms and chest. He said "Man I'm like a spark that gets a fire going out there on the field". What a friggin idiot. Yea, Cedric, you were the 4th pick in the draft, and you really set that field on fire there in Chicago. What a nut case.

I working on a half sleeve for my arm where i already have a Cross to honor my Brother who passed. He was a HUGE Irish fan so i thought it would be appropriate. To either side of the cross will be the Golden Dome and Touchdown Jesus. Below the cross will be the Stadium. Also will be squeezed in the 4 Horsmen with clouds tying it together with eleven clovers with appropriate dates. Oh and the inside of the upper arem will be the lyrics to "Notre Dame Our Mother" i will try to post pictures of the preliminary sketches.

Wow! No one should buy any art or place momuments because not everyone understands what they represent or what the monuments stand for (some, u have to read the plaque to know what the hell it stands for) and everyone has pictures in there home or anywhere u look there are paintings/sculpture/monuments.
I personally dont give a flying f+^k what people think of my tats, I have them for me and what they mean to ME! I do get annoyed by ignorant statements. I appreciate the talent that went into creating the piece. I probably wouldnt wear some of the clothes that you wear and like Endzone2 but Im not gonna make a ignorant statement and call you an idiot. To each his own and if what i have on my body offends you or you think its stupid look away, Im not forcing to stare at my ink let alone suggesting you get one.

I have Phillipians 4:13 on my wrist, which I got when I finished my cancer treatments. I also have a big one on my back w/ Family forever (Teaghlach go dto) in gaelic w/ two shamrocks, and a Celtic Harp. My little bro has the same one, and there are talks of my dad/sis getting versions of the same one....I am going to get St. Kevin's Cross on my shoulder at some point soon.

I have no interest in tattoos and I have my own feelings on tattoos as a whole, but I'll just say that it's not my place to rip someone else for what they feel is important. Different things mean different things to different people.

Tattoos obviously mean a lot to a large group of people or it wouldn't be a thriving industry.

My, my, my are we allowing ourselves to be offended? You quoted my post, and I didn't call any of you idiots. I do like to make fun of certain professional football players--I don't believe you're in that category.

Monuments? Yes I think they're stupid. Just incenerate me when I'm gone. Who cares?

Paintings I don't wear on my body, and I don't wear scuptures on my body. Apples & oranges there.

Clothes? I have about 7 pairs of pants and 7 white dress shirts and one pair of tennis shoes. Honesty, that is ALL I have. Maybe I need a tat??
