Listed as a DB by Scout while Rivals and ESPN list him as a Safety. Scout has him at 5-10, 170, Rivals 6-0, 185, and ESPN 5-11, 180. Apparently a growing young man.

Also played some offense had 4 carries for 26 yds, 6.5 ypc, no TDs and 3 catches for 37 yds, 12.3 ypc, 2 TD. Returned 1 Kickoff for 60 yds and also returned one of his 6 Ints 88 yds for a TD.

On Scout lists his interest in Florida as High but they haven't offered. Neither has Alabama but they are supposed to be loaded at DB. He's got an offer from Auburn but Tennesse fans think UTN will be his likely choice as one of his teammates signed with the Vols.

He picked up an offer from ND Thursday but had already planned to camp with the Irish this summer.

It would be nice to spring him out of the south plus he could open up more recruiting lanes for us

Auburn solidified itself as the team to beat for DB Chris Jones Wednesday. That's when six Tiger coaches made an evaluation visit to check in on the Minor High standout. Coaches are allowed two visits to the prospective student-athlete's school during the evaluation period, one for an assessment of academics and one for an athletic evaluation.

AU, UA, UTN, and ND are on the short list

To build on your post BGIF, ESPN has this:

Watch List safety Christion Jones has three favorites and one leader
Christion Jones (Adamsville, Ala./Minor) updated ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com on the latest surrounding his recruitment.

Jones currently lists Auburn as his leader with Notre Dame and Tennessee rounding out his top three.

"I'm just kind of weighing my options and seeing where everyone stands with me,? Jones said. "I'm looking for great people, great interaction with the coaches. A place I can fit in and not be an outcast."

Several other programs including Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Iowa, UCLA, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt have also offered.

Jones earned Class 6A All-State recognition last fall after registering 65 tackles, seven interceptions and seven touchdowns.

Auburn Football Recruiting 2011 - ESPN

Four-star safety Christion Jones (Adamsville, Ala./Minor) recently picked up a scholarship offer from in-state power Alabama and then released a new top five, ESPN affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com reports.
"Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Notre Dame are my top five pretty much in that order," said the 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect. "I was excited about the Alabama offer, I'm real happy to get it. I like Florida because they will work me hard and get me better. Tennessee I haven't been as involved with, but I like them and want to learn more. Alabama with the offer they are up there but I want to see more from them, learn more about them."

Same Top 5 as before except ND dropped from #4 to #5.

Flexible guy that could play CB or S fitting into Kelly's mold. Early on I had high hopes he'd be Irish. We've now slipped to #5 in his Top 5. Still in the game but the only one outside of the SEC on the list.

I might be wrong but I read that as the level of talent would make him work harder. I haven't compared the level of DB talent on each of those teams. For a DB in the Class of '11 ND may have the quickest path to PT.

College football recruiting -- 2012 RB Matt Jones impresses at Irish Future's Camp - ESPN

• Speaking of the 6-0, 185-pound Jones, he also worked out at receiver. He was one of the most competitive players in attendance, and loved being physical, playing every receiver up at the line of scrimmage. He used his hands a lot, and came away with a few interceptions. Jones arrived in South Bend with Alabama and Auburn as his top two. Florida, Notre Dame and Tennessee round out his top five.

Hey Dirty:

I noticed when reading your article, it was titled "Matt Jones."

But in reading the actual thread, I noticed you were correct with the mention of "Christion Jones."

Strange. Thanks for the read though.

Down to three per ESPN, no ND:

Four-star cornerback Christion Jones (Adamsville, Ala./Minor) is focused on three programs, according to the Birmingham News.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect does not have a leader but is reportedly down to Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Auburn, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UCLA, Texas A&M and Ole Miss are some of Jones' other scholarship offers.

He intercepted seven passes earning a Class 6A All-State selection.

I heard some rumors that he is going Florida, that could help us w/ Lyons if he is going to be a safety as a Gator.

I also heard that from rumors around the Tennessee campus. The local vol beat writer seems to think he is a gator.

He can be a gator.., good luck to him wherever he decides to go. Although I despise the Gators...., oops, did I say that out loud?? Anyways I am hoping we land Lyons as our last DB in this class.

Marcus Roberson would help that as well. Hes not as highly touted as Lyons but with what they brought in last year at safety and adding Roberson, Lyons could see much earlier playing time at Notre Dame.
Roberson seems to be a HEAVY lean to the gators according to ESPNU.
