We need Stanford to keep winning. I'm not entirely confident they'll be undefeated when we play them.

With the injuries Oregon sustained last night against ASU, I'm much more confident in Stanford's chances of being undefeated when we roll into town.

Oddly I feel the complete opposite after watching the game. James should be back for sure when Oregon plays Stanford and they are crazy deep with speed. And if Thomas isn't back Bennett looked pretty damn good for not getting many reps in practice. I think 75% chance that Oregon wins.

Also, Stanford has played a poor schedule so far and has not faced a single quality team. They are not nearly as battle tested as Oregon and seem to get off to slow starts. If Oregon gets going quickly, Stanford could have a long day.

Also, Stanford has one of the best quarterbacks in the last 15 years so you shouldn't count them out of any game...

Absolutely agree. I just can't confidently say that they will win every game because they don't have his talent at all the positions. Right now, I think the Oregon game is a toss up and will be fun to watch.

I, for one, am so sick of the Andrew Luck hype. Yeah, the kid is a great talent. But what has he accomplished yet? The highlight of his college career so far is a catch in a blowout. I think Stanford as a whole is overrated. The Irish weren't that far out of the game last year until the back-to-back Marecic touchdowns, and Luck had a poor game against our defense.

The computers like Stanford a lot. It's hard to trick them. I don't think they're overrated.

Besides, we need Stanford to be ranked as highly as possible for our end of season showdown. Our BCS hopes depend on it.

Don't get me wrong, I want Stanford to be undefeated and ranked in the top 3 when we play them. However, I think Oregon will beat them.

Their schedule has been a joke so far. UCLA is the best team they've played by some distance. I will become a believer if they continue to roll with big wins over Washington and USC in their next two games.

Only problem is that USC will be beat down and reeling after Saturday, and will be easy picking.

The guy who had Wisconsin ranked #17, BELOW Nebraska should be horse-whipped. I don't care if their schedule is soft thus far, an undefeated team should never be ranked below a team they humiliated by 30 points.

Luck is 25-5 as the starting quarterback at Stanford.

At Stanford.

He's got 63 TD's to just 15 INT's over two and a half years.

Just imagine someone saying what you are about a ND quarterback with those numbers.

MSU at 15 but we are unranked? I agree just keep winning and it will take care of itself. Beating the crap out of USC will help too! :)

I think the polls are waiting to see how we handle USC. If we can run through them playing pretty much mistake free ball, everyone will be convinced that we have put the mishaps far far behind and are for real. From there I think we will sky rocket as long as we keep winning.

I think it was HawaiiIrish that said in a post that a win over USC should put us right about 22. Then if we win out, climbing about 2 spots a week and win over Stanford, we will be in the BCS. To me this sounds not only reasonable but very possible!

.... and BOOM goes the dynamite!

I think that the Badgers are a good team and will win the Big ten with that said there schedule is probably one of the worse so far.

I still stand by my prediciton after the 2010 season, the Irish will win NC #12 in 2012.

It Looks like a tough schedule but is is going to depend on a couple of teams. Oklahoma,Michigan State,Stanford, will probably all have different starting QB's which might be an advantage. However with that said we start the year of with Navy. Hopefully that will be a good thing for alot of the young guys to get alot of practice in for tem. Also Pitt is team we are going to need to worry about. They have done alot better then i think people thought they would.

Does Nebraska really deserve to be ranked ahead of them though, like that one poll thinks?
