I don't need to show you shit because in general, no churches or mosques were attacked during the French protests and destruction.
The last tweet is an academics opinion tweet, not reported fact
The 2nd tweet proves nothing... One shop that general looters sure looked like they wanted to go in there and cause damage and steal, but maybe this was later in the evening and it all it took is a few friends of the shop owner to convince them to move one... Again, proves nothing
Your first tweet is ridiculous first of all because the poster 's X profile reads "Activist 🇫🇷 | Committed against antisemitism, hatred of Israel, and Holocaust denial." He obviously is Jewish with a strong viewpoint on Israel/Jews and Muslims/Radicalization
Most of all you made me work to easily and quickly refute the tweet, but also to have to convert the French Jewish guy's X profile.

What’s confirmed
- France’s Jewish Community Protection Service (SPCJ) says Jewish-owned shops in Marseille were set on fire and a Paris synagogue was vandalized during the weekend’s riots.
- At the synagogue, Ohalei Yaakov in the 19th arrondissement, prayer books, tefillin and other objects were scattered and the rabbi’s office was searched, but the Torah scrolls appear unharmed. A synagogue committee member said it mainly looked like attempted theft, possibly people searching for money, and nothing seems to be missing.
What’s not confirmed
- The claims that “they had addresses of Jewish merchants” and that “all Jewish businesses on one street were burned, Muslim ones weren’t” come from Paul Amar, a journalist speaking on CNews. He said he received the information that morning. That makes it a secondhand account. He didn’t name the street or the shops, and he didn’t present evidence on air.
- SPCJ, the organization in the best position to know and with every reason to raise the alarm, says there is no evidence that Jewish institutions or businesses were deliberately targeted.
- Even the tweet’s author hedges: “If the information… is indeed confirmed.”
Context
- About 2,000 shops were vandalized or looted across France. Some Jewish-owned businesses being among them doesn’t by itself show they were targeted.
- Concern about antisemitism is not baseless. JTA reports that Palestinian flags and keffiyehs have been a recurring sight at the violent protests. Netanyahu blamed the unrest on an “invasion of extremist Islam,” and Macron pushed back against what he called stupid comments from foreign leaders.
- A watchdog also reports that antisemitic conspiracy theories blaming Jews for the protests are spreading online. That’s the opposite of the tweet’s claim, and it’s a good example of how quickly unverified stories are moving on all sides right now.
Bottom line: treat the “Jewish shops targeted, Muslim shops spared” claim as unproven unless police, prosecutors or SPCJ confirm it. If an investigation names the specific street and shops, that would be the point to reassess.
