I don’t know now, I’m not part of the Grammy’s. Didn’t watch the standing ovation nor the church video. I’m not a Don Lemon fan. He’s doing what he needs to do to keep his name relevant. I don’t give him much thought.

Trump’s Epstein issue and his efforts to distract from that issue are just as relevant as Don Lemon’s efforts to keep his name relevant.
By your original comment I assumed you were justifying the actions in the video. Guess not. My bad.

I would argue the attitudes of a complacent culture and self segregated upper class, along with the acceleration of wealth to the upper class, has led to the erosion of values, goals, and identity moreso than a decline in a shared identity. I think we’re in an era of comfort level stagnation where we accept good enough.

This shows itself with lower risk-taking and a preference for stability over ambition. Easy access to information has contributed by which quick, surface-level answers (MEMES!) replace sustained learning and critical thinking.

So, how does the widening economic gap between the haves and have nots play into declining dynamism?

Modern daily life has become more insular, shifting away from active, community based participation toward sedentary, inward focused routines. This is not totally unique to the uber wealthy, who insulate out of comfort, while the lower class is likely to insulate out of a lack of resources to go out and participate. Even so, lower class is far more likely to live in multi-generational setting and rely on community for assistance and relationships.

Complacency affects different groups in different ways but shares common roots in comfort and convenience. Those with economic security may become more easily complacent because their needs are met, reducing urgency to strive for more. Then, there’s delayed independence, limited mobility, and avoidance of risk. Across society, people are moving less, switching jobs less frequently, and starting fewer businesses, reinforcing a cycle in which stability is chosen not because it is optimal, but because it is familiar and low-risk.
I don’t disagree economics play a part. We live a weird society. With some it’s a race to the bottom. Policy has rewarded and subsidized low risk taking and motivation to be better. Some don’t even know what better looks like. For example there was someone at my church complaining about he she found the perfect job for her situation that she quit because lost a large chunk of benefits. She actually made more and would have been in a better spot financially if chose to stick with the job but it’s easy enough to outweigh the benefit of sitting on her ass.
Meanwhile, complacency affects lower income people through hopelessness. As it become more and more difficult to strap those boots up and reach a higher economic plane (owning a home, starting a family), more and more people feel hopeless and don’t even bother to try.

May be easy to blame people for not trying, but fact of the matter is owning a home is more expensive than ever, going to college is more expensive than ever, and having kids is more expensive than ever by percentages of economic shares. Even those who do buy a house, start a family, perhaps are or reach middle class, have to fight for retention rather than strive for growth.
The #1 risk factor causing economic hopelessness and poverty in general is single parent households. Again, policy leans heavily to do just enough to support baby momma to keep them okay with just good enough. We don’t fight for marriages anymore we just leave because there’s an out, it’s called government.
Just a quick anecdote. I went to a nieces JR High STEM competition this weekend that the Argonne National Laboratory put on in the suburbs of Chicago. Ten schools, 7 or 8 kids competing per school, and I could count on two hands the white kids. Latino, Middle Eastern, and South/Southeast Asian kids dominated. What’s, more, the girls easily outnumbered boys.
Equal opportunity. STEM opportunities especially in Chicago focus on non white students. Also female students. They are subsidized or fully funded in most cases. Again policy in the name of inclusion has excluded white men, go figure. If you went and saw prominently white men I’m sure there is a higher chance of thought or dialogue of why? But instead your point is what?
I laid out a very brief understanding of Tyler Cowen’s analysis of generations and classes. An antidote to complacency and stagnant growth IS immigration.
Immigation and POLICY subsidizing and funding opportunities. My white kids would take advantage of free or subsidized STEM opportunities if they existed, but I’m paying the full price of admission.

I do think it’s hilarious we are in 2026 and people still argue about and the morality of politicians. They are sick, they are all dirty.

Let be real, we vote for the person that we feel will be of benefit to us. If we voted on morality I’d be voting for Ned Flanders down the street.

Right- the righteous one over here voted for the one who’s kid is a notorious hooker banger on daddy’s connections and #MeTooUnlessTheyAreBlue’d Tara Reid. Kamala got her start with Willie. Sorry, can’t take the guy seriously.

Aren't most against both pedophilia and harrassing people in a church? Do I have to pick one? Should we just stop enforcing all laws until the Epstein case is fully solved? Lemon did what he did on his own volition. Did Trump hypnotize him to violate the FACE act so he could distract from Epstein. What are you even saying?
I won't be surprised when some lefty lunatic posts that. lol

Understand your getting at people cheating the social safety net. Nobody would argue it’s not an issue. I’d argue it’s a necessary evil. People use those benefits for the right reasons all the time and they make vast differences in people’s lives while making tangible differences in society. We never pay attention to the positive influences of benefits, but we do harp on the minority who take advantage.

Tax cheating and aggressive avoidance is very prevalent too. American taxpayers lose far more from tax cheats than benefit fraud (although it’s difficult to measure how many are legally taking advantage of benefits). But we tend to focus on one and not the other. Why is that?

Similarly, with it becoming easier to end marriages, and I don’t disagree with the sentiment of people not sticking it out as much. Alternatively, I don’t think anyone would want someone to feel stuck in an abusive marriage only because there’s no practical way out.

My point with the anecdote on the STEM competition is these are club teams, open to anyone trying to join. Those who chose to do so were largely non-white. There was one Catholic school (all white boys), one Islamic school (mix of boys and girls), and eight public schools (mostly non-white, mostly girls). You may know better than I, but I highly doubt public schools are dictating who joins clubs based on race and gender. It could be quite telling who took up the opportunity to join.

I get your point on broader STEM funding.

The issue from a political perspective, going beyond the sick depravity of it, is someone like Trump can be easily compromised.

Easier to compromise a President when they don't have the mental ability to do the job and the handlers/media are all covering it up for him.You get all sorts of surprises.

This is objectively false. You putting out made up memes instead of a reasonable argument is very telling.
Nope. His daughter wrote those things in her diary. That someone stole it and published it without her approval doesn't change that she wrote it, which has been confirmed by her. You like to hurl stupid nonsense then get mad when we present some actual example of pedophilia from your perverted politicians.

Chalk up one more piece of news that shows exactly what Donnie and his Cronies intentions are re: elections.: Keep spinning the narrative that Biden and the left brought in immigrants to vote illegally, that the 2020 election was stolen, and that the 2026 mid terms will not be valid due to voting corruption.

I'm now convinced more than ever, the reason little Donnie is so angry and adamant about the 2020 election being stolen is because he and his smart tech bros. actually figured out how to fuck with the voting machines back in 2016 (and he won) but due to COVID and the much more massive amount of mail-in ballots, he and his team couldn't fuck with those back then (although I think if they keep seizing voter rolls, they'll find ways to do it now) and that's why Biden won which took Trump and his team by surprise. Remember how Trump was way ahead as we went to bed but then the mail-in ballots started to come in and he was toast. He know he was close to due to his vote tampering efforts and he was so frustrated he didn't pull it off again in 2020.

They'll be plenty more seizing and suppressing for sure over the next 9 months. He and his team know they're done if they don't as the TX election this weekend so very nicely illustrated.

I'll ignore your 1st grade language.

And why do you feel like that? Is the truth hitting home. Of course you don't care because the Moron and his team will still be in power and our country gonna go down hill even more.

Besides, you can't refute my comment based on his and his admin's actions since coming into power. You show me how he and his team are acting like Boy Scouts when it comes to free and fair elections and I'll believe you.

Until then, kindly bugger off.

Yes, forcefully impose your will against minorities! This is how we fight fascism!

They're such reasonable thoughtful people.

He should've spun around on her and slapped the living shit out of her for assaulting him. Just laid her crazy ass out as a lesson to not do stupid stuff like that. If you're tough enough to assault someone like she did, you're tough enough to take the repercussions.

These are brainwashed loons who can't debate, can't reason, can't defend their position, and for most of them, have no actual idea why they're opposing this policy or that. Most of them just parrot whatever the nonsense du jour is. They just scream and have tantrums like this goofy lady. As soon as you hit them with some facts or ask them to explain their position, they get mad and fall apart. It's like watching an entire herd of cows with mad cow disease.

How do you refute baseless conspiracy hunches?
Show me where the left isn’t moving to make elections easier to cheat? They need to crack down on the fraudulent voter rolls. Some of these states are wildly off base and since they did import these potential voters on purpose, it is a fair question.

Nope, the “quote” and second statement in your meme are 100% fabricated. She also did not leave the diary behind at a mental facility.

Rather the diary was stolen from her when she left it behind and sold to Project Veritas with another right wing blog leaking it. The woman who stole it from her and sold it spent time in prison. Even Project Veritas the whole thing was problematic and unsavory enough to publish it.

But, let’s talk more about Don Lemon and unsavory journalistic practices. You guys love having it both ways.

Maybe try to learn something on your own instead of relying on memes like a fucking 10 year old.

Ashley Biden referenced “showers with my dad (probably not appropriate)” while conducting a stream of consciousness exercise in which she was reflecting on recovery from substance abuse and other childhood traumas. She also has stated in court that her innermost thoughts were “grossly misinterpreted” to “peddle grotesque lies” and amounted to defamation.

Totally the same as Trump being BFF’s with Epstein for 15 years plus and running beauty shows for teens while bragging about sneaking backstage.

The one with conspiracy theories is Donnie. He filed what, 70 lawsuits after 2020? Lost every one and couldn't find any of the fraud he keeps baselessly rambling on about.

I'm not asking you to refute highly likely actions (is what I would call them).
What I asked is tell me where you think the Trump admin is making an effort to have free and fair mid term elections, that they would be glad to do if they're pitch is better than any other parties, and with a pitch that's all about how Americans have been better off and will continue to be better off? I'm waiting....

Show me where the left isn’t moving to make elections easier to cheat?

I don't believe they are doing any such thing so I have no need to do that, and it would have to be an action by specific states (assuming Trump is point to blue majority states), not by "the left." Conversely, I've already told you about 5-6 things the Trump admin is doing and calling for to subvert the mid terms.

They need to crack down on the fraudulent voter rolls. Some of these states are wildly off base

Why do they need to when there is no proof of said fraudulent voter rolls? "Some of these states are wildly off base?" In fact, there have been numerous deep, post election analysis of states like PA, WI, and NV, and Rockland County NY that show massive inconsistencies compared to expected voting patterns which point to digital manipulation. Do you think these lawsuits (at least Rockland County filed one) are going to go anywhere under a Trump-controlled DOJ?

and since they did import these potential voters on purpose, it is a fair question.

How are they potential voters when they can't vote as undocumented immigrants - and I have read nothing about any real immigrant voting fraud incidents - and is the last thing they would do to draw attention to their undocumented status; and in Red-controlled states, good luck with that.

1- You’re wackadoodle theories about Donnie and the boys messing with the voting machines in 2016 is funny. Which states are banning the hand counting of ballots? Glad to see you’re a full fledged election denier though.
2- Looking at Oregon with 800k inactive voters on the voter roll, Georgia with 400k+ and then look at the shenanigans Fulton County GA pulled in 2020, which are far more verifiable than any Donnie and the machines tin foil bs.
How many instances have we already seen of illegals registered to vote? We’re told it’s not allowed, but it keeps popping up. You could argue it’s still not common, but it is being found. Perhaps if you read the news instead of silly straw man comedy bits from left wing hacks, you’d be more aware.
We also heard the same thing on illegal immigrants not receiving government healthcare and Dems have just moved on to that’s a good thing and we’re doing it for millions.
We need to get voter ID validate citizenship with these votes. It’s not our fault the dems made a mess that requires some controls to prevent illegal votes.

Or this funny new Nicki Minaj take is pretty good too. Glad they lost her and you can hear from one of your old voters.
