It's amazing to think that people look at Eric Adams and see a black guy and assume he must be some sort of radical leftist.
Not at all, but there's your problem. You see a post from me and assume I think he's radical. He's using the same tactic that the folks in Texas are using, which IIRC, you have found to be unsympathetic to those coming across the border.

My problem? I didn't make jest of your post, it was about the character that assumed that all Dems are aligned with the same immigration policies. In which AOC and Eric Adams are grouped together as walking in lockstep on this issue. Which, as we know couldn't be further from the truth.

I think Eric Adams is a clown and talks out of both sides of his mouth so him experiencing any sort of backlash is great. Whether it's in Texas or NYC, using human beings as a political chess piece is disgusting. Instead of playing the Republican game of shipping people around the country it would be a great thing if he actually provided them with some sort of stable housing.

I only stereotype Senators in gym shorts or jackets with gold bars in them.

Not sure what makes you think this. I just think Democrats need to be flooded with the result of their vote. It’s not fair to Eagle Pass to take this on. If Democrats can’t see the problem and the media ignores it, how else will they be bothered by constituents to fix it?

Whoa, hold up! I've been thinking about this problem that Adams and NYC are having and I think I have the solution. Over the past few years, every time some of us have pointed out the problems with illegal immigrants flooding our border, our cities, and overwhelming our social, educational, medical, and government systems, Cack and Toronto have assured us that even with those negative impacts on our economy, illegal immigrants were still a net plus. Adams just needs to be reeducated and have it explained to him the right way. He's about to throw away an economic boon to NYC by shipping those illegal immigrants away.

If we could get Cack and Toronto to go to NYC and explain it to Adams the way they have to us over and over, he'd realize all these illegal immigrants are his city's savior, not an economic disaster. C'mon Cack and Toronto, go explain it to him. I'll help pay for the tickets. I'm sure others here will chip in to save New York!

I would offer to pay for Cack and Toronto's hotel rooms for their stay in NYC, but they're hard to snag these days given that's where migrants are being housed. Also, I'm 100% certain the NYC school budget for 2023-2024 didn't account for thousands of new students.

Many people are compassionate with other people's money, resources, living space, jobs and housing.

Easing greenhouse emission standards
Changed labor law making it easier for employers to avoid paying overtime
Eased car emission standards
Impeded regulations on preventing toxic waste

This is a fortunate mistake by NY. Their policies are so insane they lost 136,000 kids in 4 years.

You casually ignore the cost to house, feed, educate, and provide healthcare for all these people. It's self destruction financially.
Yes....the horror of taking care of children brought here through no fault of there own.

Your holier than thou narrative is tired. I didn't advocate for letting these people to die in NYC street gutters, but the American taxpayer shouldn't be footing the bill for foreigners who broke our immigration laws. These people (adults and children alike) who broke our laws should be sent back to their home countries.

Your idiocy is tiring as well.

They didn't break our laws you moron. They are following them through seeking asylum.

Ah here we go, back to the name calling. If you think every person who crossed our border illegally qualifies for asylum, you're disconnected from reality. You conveniently excluded human traffickers, drug traffickers, etc. Our border patrol has had several days where thousands of these people got away and weren't processed. That's not following our laws and that isn't seeking asylum, but I'm an idiot? What a load of crap lol.

You should also do some homework on what constitutes asylum. I'll give you two hints:

1) Depending on their home country, many should be seeking asylum in other countries before the US.

2) Being poor or coming from a poor country doesn't grant you asylum.

Not name calling. An accurate observation. That or you are dishonest. If you're being dishonest, then I think you're a piece of shit, not a moron.

So, you are either too moronic to comprehend that the immigrants in New York are not illegally in the United States, or you know and chose to lie about it and are a piece of shit.

Now you try semantics and a topic change. Stupid ones at that. We talking about caring for asylum seekers in New York? You stated that because they are all illegal, they deserve no care. That opinion is divorced from reality or cover for being cruel. The immigrants in New York, who we are talking about, were all processed according to the law.

I'm not being dishonest at all, and name calling only weakens your position.

If we have had thousands of getaways at our border over the past two years (this is undeniable and not an opinion), it is impossible for you to say that every illegal immigrant (regardless of where) has been processed according to the law.

Have you done any homework on what constitutes asylum, and what that process is? Or would you rather keep the blinders on?

From the last time you tried this nonsense in this thread.

Lol, why? It's not my job to determine qualification.

They all go through an interview with someone from DHS. At that time, a determination is made about whether or not their asylum request gets a court date.

Well no shit. I'm not talking about people that don't get caught.

The ones that are being shipped to sanctuary cities are seeking asylum. The ones that get released with a court date are seeking asylum. I'm trying to make sure they are excluded from discussions about illegal immigration. Primarily, because they are not in the country illegally.

Also..."weakens my position". Hey dummy, it isn't an opinion that the immigrants in New York are not illegal. That is a fact.

If me calling you a moron weakens my opinion that we should help these people, then I dunno...support it because Jesus would or something cause that's pretty fucking petty.

I'm encouraged you took a few minutes to educate yourself. Now if we can just bring you to the point where you acknowledge that open borders + welfare state = disaster. NYC mayor and NY governor have admitted it's unsustainable. Just waiting on you.

Yes, when your position strays from facts and logic to name calling, it weakens your position and makes you sound like a teenager.

The majority of these people should be taken care of, as we escort them back to their home countries via plane, train, or automobile. Being poor isn't a qualification for asylum, but dereliction of duty (failure to enforce our federal immigration laws) is grounds for impeachment.

Not even gonna go down the Christian/ Jesus road with you.

My position is that the immigrants in NYC are not illegal. My pointing out your stubborn stupidity doesn't affect my position at all because it's just simply a fact.

Then why is Biden trying to get temporary "legal" status for some 470K+ if they aren't illegal?

Because you can legally be in this country and not legally be able to work in it?

The answer was in the article you provided.

"The promise of accelerated work permits does not apply to people who cross the border illegally and seek asylum, who, by law, must wait for six months to receive work permits."

And he's doing it for Venezuelans. If they can become citizens it's a win for the R's bc they vote like Cubans.

The whole asylum system needs to be reworked. More/ faster lawyers or a non legal screen, ability to work while application is pending.

The issue is you have a bunch of people who are legally here in legal limbo and unable to work... so they're a financial drain. If they could work everyone would be doing better. More workers for the locals, generating tax revenue, etc. Etc.

I agree with all of this. I was waiting to bring up Cubans leaving a communist country are favored, but Venezuelans fleeing a authoritarian left country are not, when they are probably more inclined to side with the GOP. Those are potential voters that can be convinced Dems are the same as what they are fleeing. A shrinking opportunity.

Programs get screwed up when changing leadership groups go from trying to make it easier, to trying to make it harder, to trying to make it easier again. Tough to make something work when there are continually program changes to rules, procedures, and expectations. That's the job though right now.
