Open borders for thee, but not for me. Sounds like Abbott and DeSantis saved some money. You hate to see it.

I don't understand why anyone would want to come to a country as fucked up as drayer says it is.

Ironic, isn't it mayor? Welcome to the shitstorm your party's policies have been inflicting on the border states and their citizens for years.

I don't understand why people would risk their lives to come to a country (many times breaking that country's immigration laws to do so) full of racists, bigots, xenophobes, white supremacists, traitors, etc. It doesn't add up.

Coin falls both ways. People on all sides complain about the state of America.

I doubt Drayer has ever burned an American flag.

If the number of illegal immigrants fell from 2007 to 2021 (or whenever it spiked up again with Biden). Wouldn't the majority of that time have been under a Democratic president? GWB saw some pretty big increases in his tenure too, which seems strange considering his relationship with some of the border states and him being a Republican.

Maybe there was specific policies that some can point to that are counter to that?

IIRC, W wasn’t that tough on illegal immigration during his two terms. And at that time, Dems weren’t known as “Open Borders” party when it came to illegal immigrants. There was obviously some nuance between the parties but they weren’t as far apart on secure borders as they are today. Again, I’m going on recollection so I’m not making definitive claims here

I was reading the posts and thinking the same thing, then came to your post, so there probably is some truth in what you're recollecting.

So I guess that Bishop's point about Dem's open borders policies have hurt red states for years, is wrong then? Because if they became the open border party and Obama saw a decrease in illegal immigrants living in the US...would that mean that only with Biden have they became that party?

Maybe Bishop can clarify.

Probably didn't say anything because he didn't want to make Biden look bad because Biden had already made a pretty damning statement against the Border Patrol Agents earlier in the day.

I would think a public official such as Mayorkas intentionally spreading false info or allowing it to be spread in order to harm a Federal agency or further a political agenda would constitute a threat to our democracy and be an affront to those who claim to be so outraged by dishonesty from public officials. I'll await an explanation from such persons as to why this instance is different and nothing to be bothered by.

He’s a democrat and when asked to grade himself, he said A. Clearly another clueless Biden appointee.

Given the anger and accusations and narrative about Border Patrol agents whipping Haitian refugees, don't you believe Mayorkas had an ethical and political obligation as a servant of the people to speak up and just be a decent human and say, "This simply isn't true." Heck, as the head of Homeland Security, those were HIS people! Any good leader knows you have to look out for your team and have their back, ESPECIALLY when you know they're being abused, mistreated, or falsely accused. If you don't, they'll never follow you or trust you again. Mayorkas was told the whipping thing was BS and yet he didn't speak up. In my book, he showed a serious lack of character and backbone, and put politics and his standing with the party ahead of what's right.

This was the post I was referring to, and was wondering what exactly you had to support that claim.

This may blow your mind....but yes I think whipping refugees is bad. Shocker, I know. I don't know about this exact situation but, if the Biden admin is doing that - it's wrong.

You quoted a different post of mine, so pardon my confusion over what you were asking. What do you mean what exactly do I have to support my claim that her party's actions have caused a shitstorm of problems for border states and their citizens??? Ask a serious question. The news is full of countless stories and videos of violence, rapes, overwhelmed jails, hospitals, shelters, and etc. in those border areas, children and women being trafficked, drugs being brought in, neighborhoods being overwhelmed by gangs and theft, and a hundred other problems created by an unrestricted incursion of illegal aliens encouraged to come here by the promise of few if any consequences and plenty of free food, housing, medical care, and etc. Surely you don't need me to find links to stories do you? I can also find links to articles explaining that water is wet, it's hot in Arizona in August, and that big-busted blondes will swear they're genuinely in love with elderly billionaires if you need me to. :)

I don't know if you're joking or don't know what we're talking about or just don't know the whole story. Nobody got whipped. There was a brouhaha about a picture supposedly showing BP agents whipping refugees, but it turned out to be false. My point was that Mayorkas had been informed of that fact, yet remained silent and let the false narrative continue to be spread because it was politically expedient to do so.

You said "years", when you say "years" how many are we talking? Because Obama reduced the illegal immigrant population, so maybe you're just referring to the Biden admin? Watching the news is fine for entertainment, would be curious to look at the crime rates in the border states (as I genuinely don't know whether crime has actually gone up.

I don't know the Mayorkas story that you quoted me on, so yes I don't know what you're upset about. Ok, so doing the wrong thing because it's politically convenient is bad. How's that? Ok answer? The Blue team does bad things sometimes, it's ok to point that out :)

DHS was already turning their backs to him in person. This has to piss off the agents even more.

The not so shocking irony concerning Mayorkas ........ he's the one that was pushing for the "Disinformation Governance Board" aka Ministry of Truth. Meanwhile the border burns.

Maybe Tommy can give him a call .... "Do your fucking job!!!"
