I'm Back.....

Missed you guys. But family problems have taken their toll on us down here in TX. My brother survived a suicide attempt and my mother suffered a stroke and father had a triple bypass surgery...all in the last 5 months. And I've been cutting the checks.

I've been running my fathers company(which we sold) AND working my job as well.....

So sorry for suddenly jumping off. I love this damn board and all you crazy ND bastards. I've learned more about ND football being a member here than I ever knew in the first place, and I'm the ND guru down here in TX.


I look forward to my escape from all the craziness of life and getting back to some friendly banter on the boards.

I live in Atascocita. Went to high school with him AND David Givens. Although Bert was way before my time...same high school.

Oh brother! Someone who's had it worse than me!

Seriously man, my brother survived a suicide attempt as well.

I happened to be in South Bend with my best friend for the ND/Usc game. We went for a run on campus, went to shower, and then went to an awesome Irish pub/restaurant. Just after finishing lunch, and my second Guinness, I got a text saying "you're my best friend, and tell my boys that I love them".

Obviously, we drove straight back to Iowa, and I met up with my family in Iowa City at the hospital. He survived, and is flourishing.

Not to mention, my dad hit a deer on the interstate, on his motorcycle, doing 75 mph.

Mom was also hospitalized with chest pain.

Everyone is doing great, and as a matter of fact, I just witnessed my dad getting his 20 year chip signifying his years of sobriety tonight (he escaped the accident with only a broken leg).

I've learned a few things in my life, and they are as follows:

God loves us and carries us

It could always be worse

Things will get better!

Good luck to you my friend! I'll say a prayer for you and yours tonight.
