I think it depends on the game plan, and the Coaches forte'. Offensive coaches generally take the ball, and Defensive coaches normally defer.

I like that approach of mental intimidation. Considering Kelly's perceived Offense and Defense games will be more like shootouts ...Take the ball First (and the points).

Just because it will likely be hot this Saturday, I would take the ball and see if we tire Purdue out with the up tempo offense. Earlier the better!

I'd probably take the ball. However, either way, just don't be a Matt Hasselbeck and say, "We want the ball, and we're gonna score." Not the way you want to start the season!

I'm a fan of deferring to the second half as well, but Coach Kelly has been preaching his aggressive offensive style since he got here. I think he will elect to receive if given the option. Then he'll get Purdue on the run and keep them on the run. Don't forget men, Saturday's the day we're going to win.
