I mean there is only 5 Power FIVE conferences in America...and there are three of them (Oregon and Kansas the other two).

3 of the 5 Blue Bloods in the same bracket when only 4 made the tourney is nuts, regardless of how their year was. Space that shit out to drive up ratings across the board.

It is just ridiculous that the champion of the B10 by 2 games only got a 5 seed. Purdue and Maryland were both 5 seeds as well, finished 3rd and 4th in the same conference and lost their only head to heads against the B10 champ.

Got screwed b/c of two losses in Maui back before Thanksgiving.....like 4 months ago.

Well in that regard, the committee does take into account current projection of success. Purdue was fairly hot heading into the tourney, and Maryland was top 10 for majority of the season. IU was punished for not beating scUM, which I agree is BS. I think a biggest travesty was MSU not getting a 1 seed. The B1G was disrespected across the board.

To your point, per the final Coaches poll: IU #12 and B10 Champ - 5 seed. Purdue #10 - 5 seed. MSU #2 and B10 Tourney Champ - 2 seed. Maryland #17 - 5 seed, probably the most deserving of their seed.

For some reason in terms of polls and recognition, IU was never able to overcome the crappy start to the season. It looked to me that winning the B1G out right didn't count for much and then losing to scUM in the B1G was just validation for the committee that IU wasn't worthy of a higher seed in their minds.
