I really enjoyed both Aerosmith and Boston live, both shows were pretty good. Aerosmith was kind of crazy, even in his 50s/60s Steven Tyler will do all the stuff he's done for years at concerts, like swing out into the crowd upside down by one foot from a rope in the rafters.

I've seen Aerosmith and yeah,... while Tyler couldn't do the entire show (Perry had to sing a few songs for him)... he was good while he was there. As you stated he swung around, went into the crowd and tongued some female fan... Lenny Kravitz opened for them though and I would say he was much better that night...

Absolutely. I've only seen him once, and that was back in '79, but I stood on the front row leaning on the stage right in front of him and it was like sitting at the feet of God. He cuts loose a lot more in concert than he does in the studio. Still got major chops even today in his 70's.

When was the concert, and what songs were they? There are a few songs that Perry does sing lead on, like Walk on Down. They're all getting pretty old though, I know Joe has said that Tyler probably needs to start toning things down a bit at his age since none of them are spring chickens anymore. Steven fell from the stage a year or two ago, and Perry had some health issues this year.

Absolutely. I am hoping that sometime in the near future you can "attend" a concert like that using VR. Maybe that tech already exists. I would pay $1,000 + to be able to go back in time just to attend the Wembley '86 concert.

I don't know about $1000 for a VR concert, but I'd pay at least a ticket price to own the ability to do something like that I would think it can't be done on past concerts given the way they were filmed, but today maybe you can put down a 360 degree filming platform so someone with VR could look around during a concert and see/hear the experience.

I said I would pay a thousand to actually go back in time and be there. Definitely not just for VR.

About ten years back... he sang a few songs... can't remember which exactly but at least one or two were the bigger ones Tyler normally sings.

I saw them last about 10-12 years ago, and other than the few songs that Perry does lead on like Draw the Line, Tyler did all the other hits: Dream On, Sweet Emotion, Back in the Saddle, Walk This Way, etc. Maybe he was under the weather that night? I'd say overall his voice is still there, he just did that country album (haven't heard it myself) and I've seen him do appearances online.

I was very lucky to grow up in the 60s and 70s and saw Hendrix at the Isle of Wight, the Cream farewell concert in the Albert Hall and the Stones and Leonard Skynyrd at Knebworth. The Stones were a regular treat but never had any interest in the Beatles. Led Zeppelin came along and were a revelation but after them and Deep Purple all the other heavy metal bands were just mean!

Had a softer side as well and really enjoyed Eagles, CSN&Y, Joni and Jackson Browne.

I'd give up the smart phones, HD TV, social media, and all the other junk to have lived through and seen those bands in their prime.

Except video games...don't know if I could give that tech up. I have a problem.

Me as well. Not sure there will be another period of time where the quality of music and musicians will be as good as that period. I do think the Grunge/Alternative era of the 90's was very good, but not quite as good as rock in the 60's/70's.
