Icon and avatar overload

Is there a way to limit the avatars and icons that show up so that you can focus on the threads. I know this is a visually rich and complicated web site but I'm just wondering how to get more focus on text (including text size) and limit the visuals.

yes, in USER CP.... go to user options, then scroll to the bottom "Thread Display options"... you can check the boxes for each of those so you only see the text basically.

Found it using IE. Couldn't get there with Chrome. Thanks for the heads up.
