Freaking awesome man. People here always have a sense of humor.

There's a new alternative magazine around here now, kind of like the Onion, only focused on local issues. It's called "The New Orleans Levee" and its motto is "We Don't Hold Anything Back."

Feel free to use any of my comments with proper attribution.

I love the motto.

I liked your article but I've got the feeling Tiger fans are saying, "What a bunch of weird quotes! Do those ND fans know anything about football?"

Proud to Swim Home

For several years, a civic organization here has distributed bumper stickers which read: "New Orleans - Proud to Call it Home"
Since Katrina, someone has distributed thousands of stickers that read: "New Orleans - Proud to Swim Home."

The Sugar Bowl will be a great match-up for all concerned, but more so for some: A law school classmate of mine, who lives in Baton Rouge, has long been an Irish fan, and has a son who is a ND grad. Howeer, he has another son who recently graduated from LSU.
My friend was ordained as a permanent deacon this past year, and the Diocese of Baton Rouge assigned him to Christ the King Parish . . . which happens to be the Catholic student center at LSU.
I think it's safe to say he'll be weariing purpl;e & gold on Jan. 3d.

But he'll secretly be cheering for the Irish. We are a cult. You never really leave. (insert Evil laugh)

Nobody here thought that. We thought it was funny, in a good way.

I guess it depends on how you read it, I think it's great by the way. I wonder what kind of comments you will get in the future when you ask this board. Well done dude.

Frank Leahy, a Notre Dame grad, was once the head coach at Boston College where he won 20 games in two seasons. He wore their school tie, it was part of his job. But his heart sang The Victory March.

ND comes looking for a ballgame in the heart of Marti Gras country. The ballgame may be a blowout, but, like any Irishman worth his salt(SUGAR), they will be too drunk to care.

I work for a media company here in New Orleans. I was talking to my boss this morning, and he said that it would be nice if we could get some quotes from ND fans, talking about how they feel about playing in the Sugar Bowl. I was like, hmm, I think I can make that happen.

So how do you feel? Lemme know. All quotes will be anonymous, unless you indicate otherwise.

 What ??? LSU ??? Oh man, we're dead. No way can we match that speed on defense and Russel's gonna eat us alive ! Maybe we wont show up...

I for one believe in what makes ND so special. "What Tho' the Odds !!!"
