I have been using hidden city ticketing to get really cheap airfares for the past year or so through the website skiplagged.com. It works wonders.

Well anyhow, my girlfriend is from California and she booked a flight with this method to come visit in New Jersey. The flight's destination she booked it for was Nassau, Bahamas, but it connects in Newark for just $128. Amazing deal right? My question is will she need a passport for this flight since her only intent is to go to Newark, but the actual destination in her itinerary is international. Any help is appreciated.

If it is an international destination, then the airline will definitely ask to see her passport. She should call whatever airline it is, and check with them. If they say it is ok, she could even go so far as to call the ticket counter at whatever airport she will be flying out of, and ask to speak to the Station Manager, and let them know the situation.

EDIT: She should contact the airline ticket counter at her originating airport, anyway, to make sure that they will check her bag(s) only to the connecting airport and not all the way to Nassau.

I appreciate the response. The reason I ask is because she doesn't currently have a passport so she's going to have to expedite one. Reps.

I hope she doesn't need a passport. It's taking 3-5 weeks to get one, even expedited.
