Help Needed ASAP!!!

A michigan fan I know down here is, of course, singing the praises of lewan and claiming all the "reports" about him are made up.

Does anybody have some links handy that I can use to prove him wrong? He claims there is no police report either about the statements the teammates gave in regards to lewan threatening to rape the girl.

Please help out. Our hatred of michigan unites us all, so the more damning...the better.

Yeah, I get that. But I think that report was just of Gibbons and the rape of the girl...no report about lewan.

Hey man I can't really help you out, but I was just in a thread on reddit where the UM fans are even calling him a dirtbag/asshole. Second comment down is about how much of a dbag Lewan is. Sorry I can't offer more. Hope you can use it as a small jab at least. "Even your own fans acknowledge what an asshole Lewan is!" All I got brother.

Basically it was Douglas Smith, former Michigan Professor, that took interest in the case and pushed the issue with Michigan's Board of Regents in 2011. Link below is to his comments at that meeting. (He does not specifically mention Lewan by name)

After those comments became public, the victim reached out to Mr. Smith via Facebook (see Sports Illustrated Article Link above ) and I'm guessing that is when Mr. Smith got a few more details including the name of the person that made the threats.

With regards to the threat allegations, Smith said, "With regard to why there were no charges brought against Lewan for threatening the rape victim, I was told by UM Police Chief Robert Neumann (at the time he was a lieutenant), that he discussed bringing charges against Lewan with the prosecutor’s office but he was told that in order to charge him with intimidating a witness there had to be an underlying felony charge and since rape charges were not filed against Gibbons, they could not charge him with intimidating a witness (Neumann told me he had notes on the conversation but when I submitted a FOIA request for the notes the University told me there were no notes)."

The Michigan athletic department – and football team in particular – are an embarrassment to intercollegiate athletics, and the people running them need to be fired immediately. In November 2009, then-freshman kicker Brendan Gibbons was accused of rape by a female student. Gibbons’ roommate, All-American LT Taylor Lewan, then committed an additional crime by threatening to rape the woman himself if she pressed charges against Gibbons. What’s even more damning is that two fellow football players reported Lewan’s threats to the police themselves, but nothing was done by anyone in the Michigan program to punish these players.
