Pretty much sums up this game. Make any additional comments you'd like to add.

you need a new username! Anyway, team looked too tentative after Floyd's fumble.

I dont think I would list it as pathetic. We have plenty of positives to take out of a nice win.
1. Strength and Conditioning came through in the second half.
2. Crist settled in and made some solid decisions.
3. We were able to run the football at will.
Was it pretty...? NO. But we will take the win and move on to face a solid Michigan team. We're gonna have to learn to keep contain on Denard because he made UConn look silly today.

Floyd's fumble should illustrate the impact of turnovers on the game. It should help them focus more on their attention to detail. It went from 27-3 to a ballgame with that play. It's great to get the win, and the mistakes are correctable. Te'o needs to tackle better, but he's always in the right spot. I'm worried about Michigan now, after watching that game. Gonna be a great game next week.

I was expecting the team to look much better in second half. Agree that team looked a little nervous after Floyd fumble, but I will alwaystake a win.

Good in all 3 phases. 2 penalties and the game never really in doubt. Good solid win. Marve is good. I think we expected the O to put up 50 pts. But that was a good win.

We won.

BK said it perfectly, it's better to have things to address after a win than after a loss...

we must play better in containment against Michigan but all in all, half to half, it was positive momentum

A lot of good to take from the 2nd half. Aggressive D, No mistakes on O trying to "get the fumble back", Special teams were incredible, no quit in the face of adversity, the ability to forget the bad stuff, guys doing their assignments, Dever and Martin doing an outstanding job on AA DE's, awesome running game, and no drop with the substituting, tackling was substantially better ... I could go on.

Yes they made some mistakes, and didn't put PU away. It is still a new system on both sides of the ball, with plenty of new starters, and a lot of shuffling in and out. But the drive, enthusiasm, and will to win was there.

Calling the 2nd half "pathetic" is over the top, dramatic, and just poor form. Some people just can't look at the good in anything, and are never pleased. I'm guessing if we win a NC, and it's by 3.... some of you will be moaning and groaning about that.

Enjoy the win, and be supporters for a bit. Give the team the benefit, and boost them.

Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

the good i notice was....

TJ is the real deal
Allen and Wood will develop into a dynamic duo
the D is light years ahead of last
the D can get a pass rush without sending the house
Longo's work paid off

on a sidenote, its hard to jusdge a team by just the first game, who knows Purdue could go onto win the Big Ten, highly unlikely but no one knows.

optimistic view

Dude, we ran the ball well. How awesome is that? Also, I love the enthusiasm of the staff. Awesome. Dane will get better and settle in. Our kicking game was really good too. Lots of good here.

My biggest concerns are that the little success Purdue had was rolling Marve out of the pocket... and Denard is a heck of a lot faster. Next week will be a very close game.

He was in there. He made the last catch just before the end of the game.

One of my favorite things about the day was seeing BK taking in all the tradition at the end of the game.

I thought we made great adjustments at half time. Just as NBC was reporting Hope was happy with their O line play we had to great plays. Haven't seen an ND team make adjustments since Lou. Execution was not there after the fumble. Not sure what that did to the team, but for most of the 3rd quarter they were in a fog. Biggest improvement in a team is from week 1 to week 2. Michigan worries me, but not as much as if the game were there. Should be close, but looking for a win.

oops i meant Wood, i don't know who "flood" is, maybe i was trying to make a hybrid between Floyd and Wood

Too damn funny. I didn't even notice the misspell, but I was talking about Woyd.

I guess Flood is a perfect blend of Floyd and Wood. Too damn funny.

And I agree with everything posted here.

The best part of that game besides the improved tackling was we didn't find a way to lose it.

I guarantee you we would of found a way to give that one away last year.

Overall I'm extremely pleased. D looked better. Special teams was unbelievable. Only 1or2 penalties.

This team is going to win a lot of games, don't forget the way Clausen looked in 2007, compare that to Crist today and you have to be pleased. He has a lot of room to improve and still played very good. Guy has a freakin cannon, needs to improve his accuracy, but that will come.

Also, don't sleep on Purdue, I think they're gonna win some games in the big ten. Their d line is very good.

I thought it was really refreshing to watch todays game. The team made some mistakes, but actually lookied in shape for once. Dayne will take a few weeks to settle in, but once he does our offense will look more fluid. It's only a matter of time before this looks like a "complete" team. Something we haven't seen since Lou.
