The kid has a lot of talent and he is a very productive player.

The only bad thing I can come up with, is that Armando Allen is a very good back, WHEN he has big holes to run through. It's not that I don't want Allen playing, I just wish we had a back that was good enough to make people miss, and do it practically on his own. One of those guys who can take a small seam, burst through it, make the first guy miss, and end up 25 yards downfield before the defense can even react. Armando Allen is Lee Becton. But I would rather have Reggie Brooks.

With Cierre Wood coming, I don't see any reason to salvage a year of eligibility for Jonas Gray. Everything I've read about him so far since he's been here has been very positive and he seems to have that "homerun threat" ability. I am not saying he should be getting the majority of the carries, I'm just saying that I'd love to see him come in for another change of pace and get a few carries each game. You never know, maybe he's what our running game has been missing.

Oh yeah, to keep this topic going...I do love Armando Allen's speed and he seems to be getting better as the season progresses, but I'd like to see him make a few people miss and create something when nothing is there. He has proven that he can run past defenders when he has a lane to go through.

Let me just say right now, I like all three backs playing this season. I like Aldridge, Hughes, and Allen very much and I think they have all done a tremendous job the last two seasons especially through the debacle of last year.

However, when Wood gets on campus, all three current guys could see their carries and playing time diminish significantly. The kid is that good. He has the ability that kmoose was talking about. He is explosive, elusive, and flat out fast! I think Gray and Wood are going to be an incredible backfield duo.

Back to Allen, I just wish we would see him string together a complete game. I have not seen him put together 4 good quarters of rushing.

I like Armando a lot especially for the type of offense that ND is going to be running. Since they are not going too be running most of the time a good scat back fits in nicely. Allen is reliable at catching the ball and can also break some nice runs off also. He may not have the Reggie Bush moves, but not many do. Saying that though he has made a few nice moves this year and is a stronger runner than last year which is nice to see. As a whole I am happy with what he has brought to the table, and hope he can keep progressing .

you guys can have Allen...i'll take every single running back that has played against us this year. Our running game is garbage.

Our run defense is nothing special, and our OL run blocking is weak. We are losing in the trenches on both sides of the ball far too often. Not Allen's fault.

I'll take any RB in the country over Robert Hughes... doesn't matter if his name is Armando Allen or not

Very true.

The OL is outplaying the DL though. That's a swtich from last year...

Meh...sophomore slump.

We were all on Kamara's jock last year...now he's the #4 receiver. Sometimes people slump.

Case in point: Mo Stovall

I think JA needs more carries, especially after getting his first TD!
